Impact
As a Principal Engineer on the Cybersecurity team, you will serve as a lead, architect, consultant, and subject matter expert on various business-driven projects related to or involving security architecture. Every day you will work with Information Security, Software Development, and Devops/Infrastructure teams in a rapid CI/CD environment to ensure that Shipt establishes and maintains a secure software development and deployment lifecycle.
What You’ll Need to Be Successful
You know how to communicate transparently and effectively across all departments and lines of business at Shipt in order to solve security problems and provide support for business-driven initiatives/objectives
You can identify, validate, and resolve security vulnerabilities and/or control gaps in Shipt’s cloud infrastructure hosted in GCP, deployment pipelines, and/or applications using a variety of commercial and custom controls including burp, Qualys, Wireshark and more
You can contribute to the architecture, development, and continuous improvement of core, security-related components within Shipt’s internal and customer-facing applications such as Accertify, ZScaler, Chronicle and Signal Science
You are able to represent information security in technical architecture and engineering design reviews cross organizationally and amongst senior technologists
You are able to partner in building a comprehensive identity and access management platform that satisfies several user type requirements
You are able to build software applications that run in production using Golang, Ruby, C, C++, Java, Python, or a similar programming language.
You enjoy mentoring and learning from other engineers
Work Arrangement
Shipt considers candidates located near a Shipt office or workspace in Birmingham, San Francisco, or Minneapolis to be hybrid, which means that they have the flexibility to work from home (with leader approval) or at a Shipt office in order to facilitate the ability to innovate, collaborate, and spark team connections. In-office expectations will vary by role and leader. Certain roles may require in-office presence on a full-time basis. Other compensation includes eligibility for an annual bonus and the potential for restricted stock units based on role.

Metro Areas of Boston, District of Columbia, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle and New York City:
$161,360-$322,720
All other locations:
$134,430-$268,861
Please note that the salary range above is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.
