Requirements
  • At least 2 years of experience in operations, planning, and/or customer accounts is required.
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Ability to lead others.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work in high-pressure situations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
Responsibilities
  • Lead a fleet of more than 30 drivers and manage driver availability to maximize fleet productivity.
  • Routinely review profit and loss for the assigned area and identify ways to maximize profitability.
  • Develop personal and professional relationships with each driving associate to support safety, service, equipment care, fuel performance, and retention.
  • Coach driving associates to achieve weekly mileage goals by managing home time and hours of service.
  • Maximize profit and loss for all assigned tractors.
  • Collaborate with planners and assign drivers to lanes that serve both the company and the driver.
  • Discuss each load and service expectations with every driver on every plan.
  • Coach each driving associate to identify improvement opportunities and provide training and coaching to improve performance.
  • Communicate proactively with driving associates about safety expectations, including pre-trip inspections, following distance, and route conditions.
  • Ensure payroll accuracy for assigned drivers.
  • Provide timely and meaningful in-person reviews for each driving associate.
  • Track freight to its final destination to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Work with sales and account teams to ensure customers have current information.
  • Assist others in achieving the organization's objectives.
