As the Business Operations Manager, Lending, you will enable business growth, execute key initiatives, run strategic planning, and lead process improvement for the In-School Student Loans business at Earnest. The Business Operations & Strategy Manager will be responsible for leading projects and supporting business initiatives through execution. You will collaborate closely with Product Managers, Design, Engineering, Marketing, Data and Analytics, Operations and Finance as needed to deliver value for the In-School Student Loans business. You will report to the General Manager of In-School Student Loans and:
- Assist the General Manager with identifying business trends and opportunities for improving growth and efficiency.
- Evaluate effectiveness and identify opportunities within current business strategy including competitive analysis, market research, and 3rd party data.
- Act and operate as an internal consultant, working directly with multiple stakeholders, management, and various related departments to optimize team efficiency for the In-School Student Loans business.
- Take complete ownership of business initiatives from conception to implementation: business case, scope, cost, schedule, action cycles, risks, issues, decisions, interdependencies, and milestones.
- Create strategies and drive initiatives to grow the business -- partnering with Product, Design, Engineering, Marketing, Operations, Data and Analytics, etc.
- Manage growth operations, including budgeting, forecasting, strategy, for the entire growth team, and be the voice of the growth team in cross-functional settings.
- Develop ways to track/analyze performance that shed light on the true value of different initiatives and their effectiveness. Work closely with Data & Analytics, Finance, to measure traditional KPIs and develop new measures.
- Author, manage, and deliver executive-level reporting on progress towards the business goals.
Ideal background and expertise:
- 5+ years working in strategic consulting, investment banking, corporate strategy and development, business operations, or product.
- Have an ownership mentality, be creative/visionary, and know how to get things done.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively solve complex strategic problems in fast-paced environments.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- MBA Preferred

This number does not necessarily reflect your total compensation, but is a range for your base salary.
