Requirements
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience supporting HRIS/People Technology programs, with significant depth in Workday across multiple functional domains.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Workday tenant owner or primary system administrator — not just a functional analyst — with accountability for configuration decisions, security design, and integration management.
  • Strong command of Workday security: domain security policies, business process security, security groups, and role-based access control.
  • Hands-on experience building Workday reports (advanced, matrix, composite) and dashboards, including calculated fields.
  • Experience managing Workday EIBs and Integration monitoring — with a clear understanding of data mapping and troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting or leading at least 3 full Workday implementation lifecycle (requirements through go-live and post-production).
  • Exceptional cross-functional communication skills: able to translate system complexity to non-technical stakeholders and to hold their ground on configuration standards when challenged.
  • Comfort operating as a solo system authority — this role does not inherit a large team of Workday admins; it requires self-direction and deep individual expertise.
Responsibilities
  • Own the Workday tenant configuration strategy across production, sandbox, and implementation tenants — including bi-annual release planning, regression testing, and long-term architectural decisions for all modules.
  • Serve as Crusoe's primary Workday subject matter authority and decision-maker on configuration standards, design patterns, and system governance.
  • Own end-to-end functional administration across Workday modules, including Talent & Performance, Learning, Payroll, and Absence & Time Tracking.
  • Establish and maintain a configuration change management process, including documentation standards, peer review, rollback procedures, and a centralized audit trail.
  • Design and maintain Workday security role assignments, domain security policies, and business process security — enforcing segregation of duties and least-privilege access.
  • Partner with IT Security and Internal Audit to support SOC 2 and internal control requirements related to Workday access and configuration changes.
  • Own data quality governance: define master data standards, conduct periodic audits, and resolve data integrity issues upstream.
  • Manage and support integrations with downstream systems (e.g., ADP Workforce Now, benefits carriers, identity providers, Ashby, Shareworks) — proactively monitoring health, resolving failures, and maintaining runbooks.
  • Build and maintain Workday reports (advanced, matrix, composite, and BIRT) and dashboards to support HR, Finance, and People Analytics; partner with People Analytics to ensure consistent metric definitions.
  • Serve as ET-side technical lead for the active Workday HCM implementation — owning workbook configuration, coordinating with the implementation partner, and driving decisions to resolution.
  • Execute system testing (unit, integration, end-to-end, and UAT) and manage defect triage; develop go-live readiness criteria and cutover plans in collaboration with People Operations and Finance.
  • Develop and maintain a Workday platform product roadmap, prioritized in collaboration with People Operations and ET leadership; proactively identify process gaps, configuration inefficiencies, and feature adoption opportunities.
  • Build scalable workflows and automations that reduce manual effort and improve the employee and manager experience as Crusoe grows globally.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for People Operations, Finance, Legal, and business leadership on all Workday matters — translating technical complexity into clear operational guidance.
  • Create and maintain end-user documentation, administrator playbooks, and SOPs; provide day-to-day support to the People team through ticket triage and how-to guidance.
Desired Qualifications
  • Workday Pro certification in one or more functional areas (HCM, Talent, Learning, Compensation, Benefits, Absence, Reporting, Time Tracking, Payroll).
  • Experience with Workday Reporting and Dashboards.
  • Familiarity with adjacent systems in Crusoe's stack: Sage Intacct, Rippling, ADP Workforce Now, Coupa, or similar.
  • Experience with HRIS data governance in a SOC 2 or similarly regulated environment.
  • Exposure to Workato, MuleSoft, or other iPaaS platforms for integration design.
  • Experience scaling People Technology infrastructure at a high-growth company (500–2,000+ employee range).
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, HR, Business, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.

Crusoe Energy Systems captures wasted flare gas from oil and gas sites and uses it to generate electricity on-site, powering modular data centers for high-performance computing tasks. This setup enables clients to run compute-heavy workloads such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and cryptocurrency mining using fuel captured from the same site. The company’s model has two parts: helping energy producers reduce flaring by turning stranded gas into usable power, and selling cloud computing services to customers around the world. In short, Crusoe pairs energy capture with on-site computing to provide affordable, low-carbon computing power. Unlike traditional data-center operators, Crusoe owns and controls the energy-to-compute chain—from gas capture to data processing—creating a direct link between the energy and technology sectors and offering a clear environmental benefit alongside access to compute resources.

Google-backed Texas data center to emit 4.5M tons of CO₂ yearly via private gas plant

A Google-backed data center in Texas will be partly powered by natural gas turbines emitting 4.5 million tonnes of greenhouse gases annually, equivalent to adding over 970,000 petrol cars to the road. The Goodnight campus in Armstrong County is being built by AI infrastructure company Crusoe, which Google joined in November as part of a $40 billion Texas investment. According to state air permit applications, the facility's fifth and sixth buildings will use private, off-grid gas power, though Google says it has no contract in place for this energy. The project reflects a broader trend: data centers are driving a US natural gas boom, with nearly 100 gigawatts of gas-fired power currently in development solely for such facilities. Several planned projects would emit even more, with OpenAI and Oracle's New Mexico facility potentially generating 14 million tonnes yearly.

Crusoe Energy Secures $500M Investment

Crusoe Energy, a data center startup, secured a $500 million equity investment led by Peter Thiel's Founders Fund, valuing the company at approximately $3 billion. The investment supports Crusoe's expansion in AI infrastructure and coincides with a $3.4 billion deal with Blue Owl Capital for a new data center in Texas. Crusoe uses waste natural gas to power its centers, reducing emissions. Thiel's Founders Fund continues to invest in AI and cryptocurrency sectors.

How Gradient Created An Open Llm With A Million-Token Context Window

Don’t miss OpenAI, Chevron, Nvidia, Kaiser Permanente, and Capital One leaders only at VentureBeat Transform 2024. Gain essential insights about GenAI and expand your network at this exclusive three day event. Learn More. In a recent collaboration, AI startup Gradient and cloud compute platform Crusoe extended the “context window” of Llama-3 models to 1 million tokens. The context window determines the number of input and output tokens a large language model (LLM) can process. Big tech companies and frontier AI labs are locked in a race to extend the context windows of their LLMs. In a few months, models have gone from supporting a few thousand tokens to more than a million in less than a year
