Requirements
  • Experience applying engineering fundamentals in fluid mechanics & thermodynamics
  • Experience with Python and C++
  • Experience building and applying physics-based simulations, ideally involving fluid mechanics
  • Experience with ownership, problem-solving skills, and effective team collaboration
  • Experience delivering on ambitious schedules, even and especially if unconventional & creative solutions are necessary to do so
  • Bachelor’s degree in a science, engineering, technology, or mathematics field
  • 5+ years relevant experience, preferably working with simulation tooling in a complex engineering environment
Responsibilities
  • Build and apply thermo-fluids simulation tools to model various systems across the Aeon engine
  • Support engine test campaigns, trade studies, component design, test data review, engine sequences, and operating condition & performance prediction/tuning
  • Identify weaknesses in simulation tools and post-process engine test data to improve understanding/modeling of engine systems
  • Take ownership of projects to increase collective efficiency
  • Collaborate with partner teams and perform responsibilities with minimal oversight
  • Be a self-starter looking for ways to improve and learn more about the system and others that interface with it
  • Average of 15% travel to test & launch sites, and occasional shifted schedules or weekend work for critical milestones
