Requirements
  • Understand and perform job duties to the expectations of the Regent Santa Monica Beach and the restaurant Service, Food, Beverage and Wine manuals.
  • Perform all side work applicable to assigned station.
  • Participate in Pre-Shift meetings and learn new menu items.
  • Welcome all guests and ensure they receive responsive, professional and gracious service.
  • Describe dinner features as needed (including changes and additions).
  • Answer any questions about the menu, specific food items, the wine list or any other inquiries the guest may have.
  • Liaise with server to always ensure communication about wants and needs of guests.
  • Understand the order taken by the server and any changes in the menu, dietary restrictions, food allergies, etc.
  • Assist the Chef in expediting the food to the dining room.
  • Aware of all upcoming orders and status of tables expecting food.
  • Always uses position numbers and proper spiels.
  • Keeps expediter station and kitchen stocked with plates, plate wipes, doilies, etc. throughout service.
  • Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the restaurant’s standards.
  • Maintain a clean, safe environment in the Dining Room and all service stations.
  • Efficiently Resets tables as needed to stay within Regent Service Standards.
  • Flexible schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • This position necessitates participation in a pooled tip system.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee table maintenance and maintain the flow of service while assisting servers in the dining room.
  • Deliver food to tables and describe dishes to guests, performing tableside service.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction and assist the kitchen in expediting the service process.
  • Promote the restaurant group and Regent’s service philosophy and style through staff attributes.
  • Provide exceptional hospitality with attentive, polished, and courteous service at all times.
  • Maintain clean and organized workstations aligned with the restaurant’s philosophy, culture, and standards of excellence.
  • Identify areas for staff and restaurant improvement and offer positive solutions for change.
  • Operate with efficiency, respect, teamwork, knowledge, patience, awareness, compassion, courtesy and initiative.
  • Comply with all federal, state, county, and municipal regulations related to health, safety, and labor requirements for employees and guests.
  • Buss/clear tables and remove all trash; assist the bar with ice delivery; use trolleys for table side service.
