Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, quality management, biomedical engineering, industrial engineering, chemical engineering, or a related technical discipline is required.
  • At least 8 years of continuous experience in quality assurance, quality control, or quality engineering in the medical device industry is required.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a leadership, quality management, or project management role is required.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment for non-active medical devices is required.
  • Experience in an ISO 13485-certified environment is required.
  • Knowledge of EU Medical Device Regulation and United States Food and Drug Administration regulations for medical devices is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams is required.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Excellent stakeholder-management and influencing skills are required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with executive management and regulatory authorities is required.
  • A strategic mindset with a strong operational focus is required.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities within a regulated manufacturing environment is required.
  • Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken, is required.
  • Ability to communicate confidentially with international customers, suppliers, notified bodies, and corporate stakeholders is required.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the continuous maintenance and development of the site quality management system in accordance with applicable international and local regulatory requirements and company quality standards.
  • Ensure that the quality management system is effective, compliant, and aligned with the scope of the site's manufacturing activities.
  • Define and monitor quality performance using key performance indicators and site-specific targets, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Report regularly to site and senior management on the performance and effectiveness of the quality management system.
  • Serve as the designated quality management representative for the manufacturing site.
  • Ensure effective implementation of new or revised quality processes throughout the organization and promote awareness of regulatory and customer requirements across departments.
  • Advise site leadership and the local quality unit on quality strategy, regulatory compliance, and quality risks.
  • Lead management, review activities, and monitor corresponding follow-up actions.
  • Ensure the site's audit and inspection readiness, lead preparation for external audits and inspections, and act as the on-site contact; ensure timely submission of responses and resolution of findings through closure.
  • Support collaboration with competent authorities and notified bodies.
  • Monitor corrective and preventive action, nonconformity, deviation, complaint, and change-control processes.
  • Ensure investigations are scientifically sound and risk-based, completed within established timelines, and that resulting corrective and preventive actions are effective.
  • Escalate significant quality risks to the appropriate organizational units and management.
  • Work closely with operations to ensure manufacturing processes continuously meet quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the maintenance of appropriate validation, qualification, and process-control activities.
  • Promote a proactive quality culture focused on patient safety and product excellence.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the site's Quality Team.
