The Companion Animal Hospital Internal Medicine service at the Cornell University Hospital for Animals (CUHA) has an immediate opening for a dedicated Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT).
In this position, you will be part of an international team of board-certified internal medicine residents, students, and licensed veterinary technicians (LVT) who provide high-quality care for small animals. You will provide technical assistance for routine and complex appointments, case workups, and procedures. Specifically, you will:
Organize and assist with all technical aspects of patient care/procedures needed to perform exemplary patient care and handling and support efficient service flow.
Liaise with other hospital services for efficient patient care and oversee each patient's diagnostic work-up, including equipment handling and monitoring.
Collaborate and cross-train with multiple specialty services to ensure excellent patient care.
Shape the future of veterinary care through practical instruction of diverse DVM students.
Participate in cutting-edge veterinary research and clinical trials.
What qualifications are required?
Associate Degree in Veterinary Technology and 1-2 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination.
New York State licensure or eligibility to become licensed in NYS.
Interest in ongoing career growth and advanced skill development.
Excellent communication skills and willingness to work in a busy, team-oriented clinical environment.
VTS in Internal Medicine will be considered a plus.
The Cornell University Hospital for Animals provides 24-hour care 365 days a year. Most of our teaching and routine care for this role occurs Monday through Friday, day shifts. Other hours, as determined by caseload and need, to include weekends and holidays (including generous holiday pay) may be required.
