Requirements
  • The candidate must have 10+ years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on Android development.
  • The candidate must have deep expertise in the Android ecosystem and SDK development, including knowledge of what Android developers expect from third-party SDKs.
  • The candidate must have experience with real-time communication technologies such as WebRTC, Session Initiation Protocol, and Real-time Transport Protocol.
  • The candidate must be proficient in Java, Kotlin, and C++.
  • The candidate must be familiar with continuous integration and continuous delivery systems, including CircleCI, Buildkite, and GitHub Actions, as well as mobile build pipelines.
  • The candidate must be able to clearly articulate technical decisions and trade-offs to engineering and non-engineering audiences.
  • The candidate must be able to work cross-functionally and influence without authority.
  • The candidate must have experience mentoring engineers and contributing to a collaborative team culture.
  • The candidate must be familiar with Claude and GitHub Copilot.
Responsibilities
  • Own the Android SDK architecture, implementation, and long-term technical direction.
  • Own the Android SDKs’ technical backlog and architectural roadmap.
  • Lead development and maintenance of the Android Voice and Video SDKs, including the underlying WebRTC, ReSiprocate, and C++ layer.
  • Drive build pipeline stability and participate in continuous integration and continuous delivery migration efforts.
  • Define Android best practices and serve as the go-to resource for Android-specific guidance across the organization.
  • Collaborate with iOS, JavaScript, and React Native SDK teams to align on cross-platform convergence efforts.
  • Conduct thorough code reviews and maintain standards for quality, correctness, and test coverage.
  • Partner with product and platform leads to evaluate feasibility, estimate effort, and deliver on roadmap commitments.
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing and documentation to reduce single points of failure on the team.
  • Continuously adapt to the evolving Android ecosystem to maximize engineering efficiency.
  • Enhance automated tests with high code coverage.
  • Own Twilio’s customer developer experience.
  • Monitor and triage customer issues and Git repository issues.
  • Enhance Twilio Voice and Video Android reference applications.

  • Prior work on public-facing developer SDKs.

Twilio's Q2 revenue jumps 22% to $1.5B, stock surges 15.7%
