Requirements
- A clean and valid New York driver's license with a tow truck endorsement is required.
- The driver must hold the proper license to operate a flatbed tow truck within New York State.
- The candidate must demonstrate safe driving skills.
- Experience with basic roadside assistance is required.
- The candidate must be able to work flexible hours, including weeknights and Saturdays.
- Proficiency in driving flatbed trucks and operating manual-transmission vehicles is required.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to automotive systems and diagnostics is required.
- Experience loading and unloading vehicles safely using appropriate techniques is required.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills are required.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure are required.
Responsibilities
- Respond to roadside emergencies.
- Take clear photographs and report any damage on every vehicle before loading and after unloading.
- Assist clients professionally and accurately by recovering their vehicles and towing them to designated locations.
- Maintain the flatbed truck and all equipment to ensure a safe working environment.
- Perform a daily routine inspection of the flatbed truck before each shift.
- Operate flatbed and wheel-lift trucks to transport vehicles safely.
- Load and unload vehicles carefully to prevent damage.
- Conduct basic automotive diagnostics to assess vehicle conditions before towing.
- Provide customer service by communicating effectively with clients and addressing their needs.
