Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in laser weapon systems, laser lethality testing, and laser lethality modeling
  • Experience planning and performing or supporting laser testing
  • Experience conducting laser lethality modeling, simulation, and analysis
  • Experience presenting laser lethality approach, results, and conclusions
  • Experience using weapon engagement tools such as Effectiveness ToolBox (ETB)
  • Knowledge of weapon systems with an interest in expanding technical knowledge
  • Ability to work well with a variety of people and viewpoints, including colleagues, partners, military operations and requirements personnel, technology developers, stakeholders, clients, and sponsors
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field
Responsibilities
  • Conduct or support vulnerability, lethality, and effectiveness (LVE) modeling and methodology development, target vulnerability assessment, and weapon system effectiveness analysis
  • Perform laser lethality modeling, simulation, and analysis
  • Conduct or support laser lethality testing on materials, components, subsystems, or systems in laboratory or field tests to help inform or validate modeling efforts
  • Plan modeling and testing efforts, compile results, formulate conclusions and recommendations, and document the efforts
  • Use experience and analytical or testing results to inform future laser testing needs or laser weapon system requirements and development
  • Utilize knowledge of HEL systems and airborne systems
  • Brief the approach, results, and conclusions to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Work without considerable direction
  • Mentor and may supervise team members
Desired Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience working with U.S. Navy weapon systems or Laser and EO systems
  • 5+ years of experience with Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) electro-optical systems development, analysis, test and evaluation (T&E), and installation
  • Experience developing white papers and proposals
  • Knowledge of missile systems and how they work
  • Master’s degree in a technical field
