- Completion of an accredited two-year or four-year program in radiologic technology accredited by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology, or the American Registry of MRI Technologists.
- In-house applicants must have one year of MRI training and two years of computed tomography scan experience.
- Outside applicants must have two years of MRI experience; computed tomography experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of cardiac and peripheral gating, respiratory magnetic resonance imaging, and angiography is required.
- Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or the American Registry of MRI Technologists is required.
- Registration in either MRI or computed tomography within 18 months of a full-time assignment to MRI or computed tomography is required.
- Current Basic Life Support training must be maintained through retraining for the duration of employment.
- Intravenous certification is required through a course or during orientation.
- Assess patient condition.
- Perform magnetic resonance imaging and computed tomography examinations.
- Assist in maintaining patient scan information.
- Assist in maintaining magnetic resonance imaging and computed tomography units.
- Participate in quality management activities.
- Computed tomography experience is preferred.
