Requirements
  • A Master's degree or Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or High Energy Particle Physics, with extensive Unix, Linux, and command-line computing experience for the High Energy Particle Physics option.
  • Experience teaching at the college level.
  • Experience with command-line computing and numerical and computational methods in computing.
  • Required programming experience with C and C++.
  • Required knowledge and experience with the Linux operating system.
  • Knowledge and experience with Bash shell scripting and standard Linux command-line tools, including SED, AWK, Grep, Find, and the VIM editor.
  • Knowledge and experience in LaTeX typesetting for scientific publications.
  • Willingness to support and advance the Christian, Catholic, and Benedictine mission and identity of the University of Mary.
  • Ability to teach a wide variety of courses.
  • Ability to create projects that enhance lectures, guide and mentor engineering students, collaborate with faculty members, and serve on university and community committees.
Responsibilities
  • Teach and develop computer engineering courses and laboratories.
  • Develop industry contacts.
  • Serve on university and community committees.
  • Participate in the ethical, moral, and leadership formation of students.
  • Integrate and synthesize broad-based liberal arts knowledge and values into Computer Science and Engineering courses.
  • Support the ongoing implementation of Ex Corde Ecclesiae.
  • Build a culture of ready and earnest hospitality in the Hamm School of Engineering and throughout the university.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Ph.D.
  • Experience teaching computer programming courses and laboratories.
  • Additional programming languages.
  • Arduino and Raspberry Pi experience.
  • Assembly language programming for ARM and AVR.
