Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Communicate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders ranging from vice presidents to individual contributors, translating them into business terms, actionable insights, and business impact.
  • Use data analysis to define metrics and tell data-driven stories that guide infrastructure scaling decisions.
  • Oversee and coordinate large data center and networking projects to deliver on schedule and within scope.
  • Manage project interdependencies and technical aspects of project success while enabling broad stakeholder alignment.
  • Define program objectives and clarify roles and responsibilities.
  • Address conflicts or ambiguities with minimal supervision and keep teams aligned and on track.
  • Work with executive sponsors and change agents to define project scope and requirements and guide programs through their full lifecycle.
  • Set stakeholder expectations and provide timely communications, escalations, and updates to maintain executive alignment.
  • Apply formal change management practices, evaluate scope changes for justification and impact, and obtain necessary approvals.
  • Anticipate program risks and issues and develop mitigation plans and solutions.
  • Facilitate clear and timely decision-making in complex or ambiguous situations.
  • Acquire domain knowledge and maintain sufficient technical understanding to participate in discussions with engineers and technical leaders and guide decisions.
  • Establish end-to-end program processes for gathering and fulfilling requirements.
  • Streamline workflows, tools, and processes to improve efficiency, reliability, and project delivery effectiveness.
  • Align project deliverables with LinkedIn’s strategic vision and translate project progress into broader strategic goals.

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with brownfield retrofits and live-environment operations, including power-system modernization, cooling retrofits, and maintaining 99.99% or higher uptime service-level agreements.
  • Experience coordinating procurement, construction, and commissioning to deliver 10 megawatts or more of new capacity within 12-month cycles while managing supply-chain constraints.
  • Expertise in high-density power and cooling systems, including 2N and 2N+1 redundancy, power distribution architectures, power usage effectiveness optimization below 1.15, and cooling for artificial intelligence and graphics processing unit workloads exceeding 40 kilowatts per rack.
  • Experience with hyperscale enterprise network design, including spine-leaf architectures, 400G/800G optics deployment, circuit planning and provisioning, and structured cabling for multi-tenant environments with strict isolation requirements.
  • Experience with physical security and compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, and FISMA, including biometric access controls and threat-detection systems.
  • Experience with decommissioning and sustainable asset management, including secure data destruction, environmental remediation, and sustainable hardware disposition.
  • Experience with greenfield development, including geotechnical assessments, environmental studies, and utility negotiations for facilities ranging from 10 megawatts to more than 200 megawatts with 24- to 36-month delivery cycles.
  • Experience managing multi-billion-dollar data center portfolios with 15 or more concurrent projects across multiple regions.
  • Experience presenting to C-suite executives on infrastructure investment strategies, managing annual program budgets exceeding $500 million, and delivering measurable return on investment on capital expenditures.
  • Experience influencing more than 100 stakeholders across engineering, construction, procurement, legal, and finance without direct authority while resolving complex multi-party conflicts.
  • Experience implementing enterprise-grade program management methodologies with risk modeling for programs involving more than $1 billion in revenue dependencies.
  • Experience driving industry-first initiatives and pioneering next-generation data center technologies.
  • Experience managing global supply chains with lead times of 18 months or more and strategic relationships with construction partners and original equipment manufacturers.
  • Experience developing five- to ten-year infrastructure roadmaps aligned with business growth, emerging technology trends such as edge computing and artificial intelligence/machine learning acceleration, and sustainability commitments.
  • Experience navigating data center regulations, energy-efficiency mandates, carbon reporting, and complex permitting processes while reducing environmental impact.

LinkedIn shuts Israel office, lays off nearly all 50 staff after $80M Oribi acquisition

LinkedIn is closing its Tel Aviv development centre and laying off nearly all of its roughly 50 employees. A small number will remain temporarily to handle ongoing business activities. The Microsoft-owned company opened the office in 2022 after acquiring Oribi, an Israel-based analytics startup founded by Iris Shoor, for an estimated $80 million to $90 million. At the time, LinkedIn said Oribi's technology would improve campaign attribution and measure website conversions. A LinkedIn spokesperson said the company is proposing changes to some roles to focus its teams on top priorities. The closure comes as Microsoft cuts costs, including a recent move to lay off 9,000 employees, though available information does not directly tie the Israel layoffs to broader restructuring.

LinkedIn launches paid advice sessions for premium users to monetise expertise

LinkedIn is rolling out a new feature for premium business subscribers that allows them to offer paid one-to-one advice sessions directly from their profiles. The tool, called Advice Sessions, enables followers to book and pay for consultations without leaving the platform. Derek Notman, founder of Intrepid Wealth Partners, said the feature could be particularly valuable for financial advisers seeking growth through new client connections. "It allows me to offer whatever services I want and get paid for it," Notman said. The launch comes as North American wealth managers have enjoyed annual growth rates of about 10% in assets under management over the past decade, though only 30% of that growth was organic, with the rest mainly attributable to market performance.

Microsoft's $20B ad business gets new leader as AI reshapes advertising landscape

Microsoft has unified its advertising businesses under SVP Matt Derella, who now oversees both Microsoft Advertising and LinkedIn Ads. Adobe and LinkedIn are launching a free "AI Essentials for Marketers" programme to address a widening skills gap in the marketing industry.
