Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Clinical Informatics, Nursing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in informatics.
  • Experience with MS Access and/or client-server relational database management systems (RDBMS) (e.g. MySQL, Oracle, MS SQLServer).
  • Experience with database import procedures and reporting procedures.
  • Experience with healthcare terminology, operations, regulations, and quality metrics.
  • Experience with Epic EMR systems.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing.
Responsibilities
  • Develop software/database requirement documents for quality initiatives identified by senior leadership.
  • Perform database import from multiple data sources, including historical data, spreadsheets, EMR queries and other databases in varied formats.
  • Create database input user-interfaces and reporting software including interfaces to MS Excel.
  • Collaborate with clinical quality professionals to support clinical aspects of quality initiatives.
  • Continually broaden skills in clinical quality review to complement IT aspects of role.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the information technology department.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with analytics software and procedures (e.g. SAS, R, S+, SPSS, MATLAB, etc.) a plus.
