This content, owned by the Documentation Department of the Product Team, currently includes technical knowledge base articles, forum posts, Example Lab projects, and in-platform documentation. As a Technical Writer on this Team, you will author, organize, deliver, and maintain content for a rapidly evolving product using your command of the English language, natural curiosity, and technological savvy.
Key Objectives
Objective #1: Constantly learn the platform while independently gathering information to deliver the material
- Install decisions locally, and keep up with upgrading as new versions get released
- Install and test common third-party software frequently used with decisions
- Shadow support and PS calls to see and learn how customers are using the tool
- Build and create in the tool; try to solve needs for automation and document your process along the way
Objective #2: Research, create, and deliver high-quality, user-centered content according to department guidelines
- Look through slack and support tickets for issues and questions that could be solved with better documentation
- Peer review content developed by others
- Identify user and organizational needs through formal interviews, informal conversations, contextual inquiry, workshops, and analytics research
- Work with customers and partners to evolve their style where appropriate and document the style in the form of templates and guidelines
- Iterate quickly by writing, editing, and collaborating on drafts
Objective #3: Review, analyze, and update content to maintain accuracy and continuity
- Identify and prioritize opportunities for process improvement
- Implement changes to processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness
- Monitor the impact of process changes on revenue generation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on revenue goals
- Develop and maintain documentation of revenue processes
