As an Embedded Firmware Engineer, you will work on a variety of projects to help us build out our code base and play an important role in developing our next generation of consumer products. REEKON Tools has active products in all stages of development from early R&D to supporting products and tools in the hands of tens of thousands of professionals. In this hands-on role, you will work closely with our engineering team developing new hardware prototypes for a range of construction and home improvement applications.
A portfolio of past work is strongly recommended when applying for this role.
The Job
- Working with our engineering team in developing new hardware products with tightly integrated mechanical and electrical elements controlled by embedded firmware
- Help build internal tools to speed up our design cycles and manufacturing time to ship
- Comfortable in conducting independent research and explorations
- Implement systems integrations of sensors, displays, and microcontrollers into prototypes and products
Your Background
- Proficiency in bare-metal and/or RTOS C/C++ with microcontrollers
- Comfortable using basic electrical diagnostic equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, etc.)
- Intermediate electronics knowledge; sensor technologies, communication protocols, drivers, etc.
Bonus Skills
- Extensive Unix/Linux experience
- Experience with Python
- Fabricating physical prototypes (3D Printing, laser cutting, etc.)
- Electronics and circuit design
- Passion for making things
