Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute business development strategies to expand unmanned aerial vehicle solutions within U.S. Government markets.
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new contract opportunities across multiple acquisition pathways, other transaction authority agreements, sole-source awards, and strategic partnerships.
  • Lead capture management activities, including opportunity shaping, competitive analysis, win-strategy development, and proposal positioning.
  • Establish and maintain senior-level relationships with government decision-makers, military leadership, program executive offices, and policy stakeholders.
  • Translate operational requirements into actionable technical, programmatic, and commercial strategies.
  • Collaborate with marketing, engineering, product management, legal, and program management teams to align offerings with technical specifications, regulatory requirements, and security standards.
  • Monitor and analyze defense policy, budgetary trends, and legislative developments affecting unmanned aerial vehicle programs and government acquisition priorities.
  • Guide proposal development, including review of technical, management, and pricing strategies for competitive and compliant submissions.
  • Drive strategic partnerships and teaming arrangements to improve market access and competitive positioning.
  • Represent the company at government, defense, and industry forums, briefings, and conferences.
  • Provide pipeline forecasting, pipeline management, and performance reporting to executive leadership.
  • Lead long-range strategic planning, market analysis, and competitive intelligence activities across unmanned aerial systems, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance, and advanced support services markets.
  • Build and manage a multi-year pipeline of qualified opportunities to support sustained revenue growth and market diversification.
  • Serve as the senior relationship executive with priority customers and related program offices.
  • Establish trusted-advisor relationships with senior government officials, program managers, contracting officers, and operational end users.
  • Engage customer stakeholders to shape requirements, influence acquisition strategies, and position the company before formal solicitations.
  • Lead and oversee capture efforts, including win strategies, competitive assessments, teaming strategies, and price-to-win analysis.
  • Partner with capture managers, program managers, and proposal teams on cohesive, compelling, and compliant proposal submissions.
  • Evaluate and recommend teaming arrangements, strategic partnerships, and subcontracting opportunities.
  • Maintain accountability for opportunity gate reviews, bid/no-bid decisions, and capture investment recommendations presented to executive leadership.
  • Direct and provide expert knowledge in the strategic function of the department.
  • Develop short- and long-term people and organizational strategy aligned with company goals.
  • Drive strategic change and organizational improvements.
  • Recruit and retain talent.
  • Set performance standards and promote employee engagement and results through delegation, continuous feedback, goal setting, and performance management.
  • Maintain transparent organizational communication through department meetings, one-on-one meetings, email, and interpersonal communication.

AEVEX acquires BlackSea Technologies for up to $650M to expand multi-domain autonomous systems

AEVEX Corp. has signed a definitive agreement to acquire BlackSea Technologies, a major provider of unmanned surface and subsea vessels in the US defence market. The deal is valued at up to $650 million on a cash-free, debt-free basis, comprising approximately $250 million in cash, $350 million in AEVEX Class A common stock, and $50 million in performance-based earnout consideration. The acquisition is expected to close in September 2026, subject to regulatory approval and customary closing conditions. BlackSea is expected to generate $150 million in revenue for fiscal year 2026. The combined entity will create one of the industry's most comprehensive autonomous systems portfolios, spanning air, surface and subsea domains. AEVEX intends to integrate its CompassX autonomy ecosystem with BlackSea's maritime platforms, whilst combining manufacturing capabilities across multiple US facilities.

AVEX scores $50M US Air Force contract, shares surge 16% on defence win

Aevex Corp. announced a $50 million contract from the US Air Force to expand unmanned mission-support capabilities. AEVEX appoints Murali Krishnan as chief growth officer to drive expansion

AEVEX Corp. has appointed Murali Krishnan as Chief Growth Officer to lead the company's growth strategy, business development and market expansion initiatives.
