Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Business, Project Management or related field and 2-4 years’ relevant work experience in the AEC industry
  • Knowledge of scope development, budgeting, scheduling, fee structures, and contract development; understanding of vendor and consultant coordination to ensure legal and financial agreements are executed accurately and on time
  • General understanding of civil engineering principles
  • Skill in managing multiple responsibilities, including coordinating subconsultant services, reviewing and approving contracts, and aligning project timelines; using resource planning tools such as the Vantagepoint Resource Plan (VRP); multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to anticipate and balance the needs of multiple stakeholders; plan and prioritize work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals and adapt approach and demeanor in real time based on shifting situational demands; readily adjust personal, interpersonal, and leadership behaviors by recognizing contextual cues and selecting appropriate responses to suit varying circumstances
Responsibilities
  • Mentors and teaches all aspects of project management to others, leveraging advanced experience
  • Participate in project planning by assisting in the development and maintenance of project scope, schedule, budget, and fee structure
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager (PM) and Principal-in-Charge (PIC) to set budget targets that align with project financial objectives
  • Develop, review, and approve fee agreements, contracts, and amendments in collaboration with the Project Coordinator (PC), Project Manager (PM), and Principal-in-Charge (PIC)
  • Coordinate and facilitate TRIangle meetings during the planning phase to clarify project goals, expectations, and priorities. Communicate the project vision consistently to team members and ensure all contributors understand client’s objective to achieve project goals
  • Monitor project deliverables and milestones through regular updates and key performance metrics. Identify potential roadblocks or gaps and work to implement timely solutions to support schedule adherence and design quality. Engages with Project Leads and Professionals of Record to ensure all phases align with established project goals
  • Track expenses, labor costs, revenue earnings, billing, and accounts receivable and assists in evaluating the financial performance of projects. Supports monthly reporting for firm-wide projections and long-term planning
  • Implements the QA/QC system to ensure key standards and habits are embedded within the Project Team.
  • Manages project data entry into the Vantagepoint SQ1 Project Hub or similar programs and coordinates supporting documentation with relevant team members
  • Leads debriefs and participates in project reviews to capture lessons learned and contributes to the development and refinement of design tools and standards that enhance sector-specific and firm-wide practice, applying professional judgment to align with evolving industry trends and technical requirements
  • Coordinates subconsultant activities, including data gathering and other similar activities
  • Design work is not part of this role; responsibilities center on project management, coordination, and execution
Desired Qualifications
  • Master’s in Project Management, Management Science, Construction Management or related field is a plus
  • Previous experience in construction management, infrastructure projects, or related fields preferred
