Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a therapy discipline (Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy) required. Or a Master’s degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited university required.
  • Current California state Physical Therapy license, or Occupational Therapy license, or Speech Pathology license required.
  • Current BLS/Healthcare Provider status as per American Heart Association standards.
Responsibilities
  • Provides leadership and supervision regarding departmental performance by completing evaluations, maintaining staff competency and development, adequate staffing, and assures all work in specified areas is completed while maintaining a high level of quality.
  • Counsels and disciplines as necessary. Responds and follows up regarding staff concerns in a timely manner.
  • Is a role model for departmental behavior, and provides and promotes a positive working environment for departmental staff to ensure strong employee morale, motivation and productivity. Participates in performance improvement projects.
  • Supervises the day-to-day workflow to ensure the department’s role and function in the Healthcare System supports the delivery of the highest possible standard of patient care, and customer service for staff and visitors within the available resources. Monitors quality assurance.
  • Serves as a resource in departmental/Hospital policies and procedures.
  • Serves as Department Manager/ Director in his/her absence.
  • Maintains department continuity by ensuring communication with staff and Manager/Director.
  • Ensures that all department staff are current on all required licenses and training.
  • Performs quality assurance checks on treatments and procedures.
  • Maintains effective communication throughout the department.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Three (3) years clinical acute care experience required.
  • One (1) year supervisory experience.
