Requirements
  • A BS/BA degree or equivalent and 8+ years of technology sales experience are required.
  • A proven track record of direct selling into target accounts within the assigned territory and exceeding sales targets is required.
  • Relevant data center or networking industry experience from a technology partner, competitor, channel partner, or end user is required.
  • A strong rolodex and relationships within the territory are required.
  • Previous selling experience and technical acumen in one or more of the following areas are required: networking, software-defined networking, network functions virtualization, switching, network automation, routing, data center, edge computing, network virtualization, hyperconverged infrastructure, or cloud computing.
Responsibilities
  • Exceed measurable sales objectives and extend the Arista brand in SLED accounts in DFW, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.
  • Use a consultative selling approach with key client stakeholders to address business needs involving hybrid cloud computing and siloed legacy IT systems across the Arista product portfolio.
  • Meet with key influencers, decision-makers, and C-level executives to present Arista’s value proposition.
  • Work with Arista systems engineers to design and position compelling solutions that reduce total cost of ownership.
  • Collaborate with technology partners to identify prospects and demonstrate best-in-class solutions.
  • Establish and manage key channel relationships in the territory.
  • Formulate strategic and tactical account plans based on periodic business reviews with prospects and customers.
  • Conduct demand-generation activities such as happy hours, lunch-and-learns, and technology forums.
  • Collaborate with Arista peers on marketing plans and best practices.
  • Keep up to date with technology partner solutions, competing solutions, and competitor strategies.

Arista Networks commits $9.7B to parts despite seeing only two quarters of customer demand

Arista Networks has reported its first $3 billion quarter and raised its 2026 revenue guidance to $12.6 billion. However, the company's purchase commitments have surged to $9.7 billion from $3.6 billion a year earlier, nearly matching its trailing-twelve-month revenue of $10.5 billion. These multiyear commitments cover chips, memory, and components for AI infrastructure. Yet customer visibility extends only two quarters ahead, whilst the industry-wide shortage prompting these agreements is not expected to clear until 2028. Inventory has risen to $2.5 billion, and gross margin fell to 63.4% from 65.6% year-over-year. Management projects margins between 62% and 64% for the fiscal year, factoring in supply chain cost increases. The company holds approximately $13.3 billion in cash and marketable securities to support these commitments.
