Requirements
  • 5+ years of backend software engineering experience
  • at least 3 years focused on GraphQL in a production environment
  • Deep, hands-on GraphQL expertise: schema design, federation (Apollo Federation or equivalent), resolvers, dataloader patterns, persisted queries, and query cost analysis
  • Proven track record operating GraphQL at scale — high-throughput, customer-facing APIs where reliability and latency directly affect user experience
  • Strong grasp of distributed systems: how to design services that are observable, resilient, and easy to reason about under load
  • Fluency in at least one of: Java, Go, or Node.js
  • Ability to prioritize and manage stakeholders; known for good communication and collaboration skills
  • Positive, proactive team player who is passionate about their craft. You find mentoring and sharing knowledge fulfilling

Responsibilities
  • Own and evolve the GraphQL API layer serving our most critical customer-facing surfaces, including search, discovery, and checkout
  • Design schemas and query patterns that balance flexibility for consumers with performance and reliability at scale

  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks — N+1 patterns, over-fetching, slow resolvers — in production systems under real traffic
  • Partner with product engineering teams as an internal platform owner: unblock them, onboard them, and raise the quality bar across the org
  • Drive observability: query tracing, latency analysis, and SLA monitoring for the GraphQL layer
  • Mentor engineers across the org on GraphQL best practices
Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity with caching strategies for GraphQL (CDN-level, persisted queries, response caching)
  • Experience building internal developer platforms or managing APIs as a product
  • Prior experience working in the e-commerce space
  • Prior experience in start-up environments

Bookingkit and NaviPartner form strategic partnership.

Bookingkit and NaviPartner form strategic partnership. Bookingkit has joined forces with Denmark's NaviPartner to offer a one-stop-shop for leisure experiences and attractions. NaviPartner is a Microsoft Solutions Partner for retail, attractions and hospitality, while Bookingkit is a platform for booking, marketing and managing leisure experiences. By combining NaviPartner's on-site operations and entry management expertise with Bookingkit's channel management offering, the partnership aims to create a seamless process from the first sale through to on-site redemption. Attractions operate an increasingly complex technology landscape, and ticketing, access control, retail and financial processes need to work together, while sales have to reach visitors across a growing number of online channels. The partnership will bring these two worlds together: NaviPartner will deliver the unified on-site backbone through its NP Attraction platform, while Bookingkit provides one of the world's most powerful channel managers to distribute those experiences across leading sales channels. Meanwhile, NaviPartner customers will gain access to high-reach distribution channels, thanks to Bookingkit's technical integrations with online travel agencies such as GetYourGuide, Viator, and Google Things to do. The partnership will also boost each company's regional strengths, with Bookingkit contributing in-depth knowledge of the German and wider European market, while NaviPartner brings an established footprint across the Nordics to the table. The two companies already share clients such as Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen. "Attractions today need more than just a ticketing system. They need connected solutions that help them sell across multiple channels, manage visitor flows, and create engaging experiences," said Mark Stewart Pederson, chief executive of NaviPartner. "Through our partnership with Bookingkit, our customers can benefit from a more integrated approach where online sales, distribution, ticket validation, and operational processes work together seamlessly. This partnership enables attractions to reduce complexity, improve efficiency, and focus on delivering memorable experiences for their visitors."

GetYourGuide launches 'Book Forward to It' campaign celebrating travel planning

GetYourGuide has launched its 2026 global brand campaign, "Book Forward to It", challenging the myth that the best travel experiences happen spontaneously. The campaign, developed with creative agency Preacher, targets the 80% of travellers who prioritise preparation over impulse. The integrated campaign runs across TV, connected TV, digital video, out-of-home, radio, paid social and streaming audio in the US, UK, France and Germany. It features four hero films showcasing real travellers in Mexico, Italy, Spain and off-the-beaten-path destinations, demonstrating how memorable moments stem from advance planning through the GetYourGuide app. The campaign follows GetYourGuide's landmark year achieving profitability, €1 billion in revenue in 2025, and 33 million experiences booked. The company recently appointed Rob Rekutriak as chief product officer and launched a ChatGPT app.
