Morgan Stanley raises Oracle target to $210, sees 32% upside vs Adobe's 10% downside

Morgan Stanley has set contrasting outlooks for Oracle and Adobe ahead of their earnings releases. The bank raised Oracle's price target to $210, implying 32% upside, citing expected cloud revenue growth near the high end of management's 58% to 64% projection, driven by new AI workload capacity. Wall Street estimates Oracle's quarterly revenue will grow approximately 28% to $19.13 billion. Adobe faces different challenges, with Morgan Stanley maintaining an Underweight rating and a $240 target, suggesting 10% downside. Investors are concerned about Adobe's growth strategy under new CEO Anil Chakravarthy, who succeeds Shantanu Narayen on 1 December. Oracle must demonstrate its AI infrastructure investments are driving cloud sales, whilst Adobe needs to reassure markets about maintaining growth through the leadership transition.

Adobe stock down 24% in 2026 amid AI concerns, but trading at discounted 15x earnings multiple

Adobe shares have fallen 24% year-to-date amid concerns that AI chatbots threaten demand for its image-editing software like Photoshop. However, the stock has recently rallied as the company continues performing well. Adobe now trades at 15 times trailing earnings and 10 times forward earnings, well below the S&P 500 average of 24 times trailing and 21 times forward earnings. Revenue grew 11% in its most recent quarter ending 29 May, excluding foreign exchange effects. Whilst AI poses risks to Adobe's traditional business model, the company has been integrating AI features into its products. Analysts suggest the current valuation provides a margin of safety, with shares potentially reaching $300 by year-end despite ongoing AI-related headwinds.

BofA backs Oracle with 51% upside over Adobe as AI demand drives contrasting growth paths

Bank of America has set sharply divergent ratings for Adobe and Oracle ahead of their September 10 earnings reports. Analyst Tal Liani maintained a Buy rating on Oracle with a $240 target, implying 51% upside, while rating Adobe as Sell with a $220 target, suggesting 17% downside. The contrast centres on AI monetisation. Adobe's AI-first annual recurring revenue exceeded $500 million but remains below 2% of total ARR. BofA views Adobe's AI strategy as largely defensive, improving retention without generating substantial new revenue. Oracle presents a more aggressive profile. BofA expects infrastructure-as-a-service revenue to jump 116% as one gigawatt of data-centre capacity comes online. Oracle carries a $638 billion backlog but faces capital spending of $92.5 billion for the fiscal year. Wall Street consensus supports the split, with Adobe rated Hold and Oracle rated Strong Buy.

Adobe acquires Indian marketing intelligence startup Rilo for team and tech

Adobe has acquired Rilo, an India-based marketing intelligence startup, in a deal involving licensing and team acquisition. The companies did not disclose financial terms. Founded in 2025 by IIT graduates Georgi Boby and Dhruv Jaglan, Rilo raised $1 million from investors including PeakXV, DeVC, and Day Zero Ventures at a $10 million valuation. Adobe will integrate some of Rilo's intellectual property along with its six-member team. Rilo focused on automating marketing workflows, allowing go-to-market teams to create custom workflows for competitor intelligence, content repurposing, and sales call analysis. The startup will shut down post-acquisition. This marks Adobe's second Indian acquisition after purchasing video platform Rephrase.ai in 2023. Last year, Adobe also acquired SEO company Semrush for $1.9 billion.
