Requirements
  • A BA/BS degree is required, although additional experience may be considered instead of a degree.
  • At least 8 years of related technical experience in network and transport technologies, tools, and techniques is required.
  • At least 4 years of experience with large-scale enterprise or global networks in a high-paced, diverse environment is required.
  • The candidate must hold or be able to obtain a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information clearance with the ability to obtain a Counterintelligence polygraph.
  • The candidate must be IAT Level II compliant.
  • The candidate must understand and have experience with the Department of Defense Architecture Framework and other key Department of Defense network architecture and strategic planning instructions.
  • The candidate must have experience with Juniper switches, routers, and firewalls, including MX, EX, QFX, and SRX devices, as well as KG-175G/F/X and KG-142 cryptographic devices.
  • The candidate must have experience with network analysis tools, including network monitoring, authentication, authorization, and accounting solutions, and security analysis tools.
  • The candidate must have experience supporting IP services connecting to NIPRNET, SIPRNET, JWICS, and other external environments.
  • The candidate must have experience with switching, local area network, and Layer 2 technologies; OSPF; BGP; MPLS; RSVP/LDP Layer 2 and Layer 3 VPNs; VRFs; IKE/IPsec; GRE tunnels; MTU/MSS; import/export policies; IPv4; multicast; CoS/QoS; SNMP; syslog; and AAA.
  • The candidate must have experience planning hardware for new site installations or recapitalization efforts, planning projects, drafting network diagrams, and drafting engineering configurations.
  • The candidate must have experience troubleshooting network environments and providing regular updates.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate system maintenance and monitor and install multiple WAN/LAN environments encompassing multiple specializations, platforms, and technologies.
  • Assist with researching and implementing enterprise-wide network solutions, capabilities, and enhancements to support customer business and mission goals and objectives.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network media and component issues.
  • Evaluate and monitor network health and performance, including hardware and management software.
  • Develop and maintain a roadmap for capabilities, operations, and technologies.
  • Assist with developing and executing test plans and support documentation of network configuration upgrades, additions, or revisions for customer approval before implementation.
  • Support network traffic analysis and bandwidth optimization efforts to achieve performance and availability objectives.
  • Evaluate and report on new and emerging network and communication technologies to enhance network capacity, performance, and reliability.
  • Evaluate and recommend changes and technology upgrades to address performance, standardization, and industry best practices.
  • Follow customer network security processes and procedures and ensure compliance with government policies.
  • Represent customer requirements in technical exchanges with other government agencies.
  • Perform site surveys for new installations and technology refreshes.
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot satellite communications equipment.
  • Develop and maintain network architecture diagrams.
Desired Qualifications
  • JNCIA, JNCIS, JNCIP, Cisco Certified Network Professional, Cisco Certified Voice Professional, Cisco Certified Network Associate, or Cisco Certified Design Professional certification, or equivalent.
  • ITIL v3 Foundations certification.
  • ISC2 Certified Information Systems Security Professional certification.
  • Experience integrating multi-vendor cloud environments.
  • Experience with network automation via Python, PYEZ, or Ansible.
  • Experience with OpenText Network Automation, Network Node Manager, ScienceLogic SL1, Forward Networks, Cisco Identity Services Engine, Aruba ClearPass, Juniper Route Director, Juniper Security Appliance, Riverbed, Infoblox, or NetTerrain.
