Registered Behavior Technician

Location: Newport News, VA

Compensation: $27.00/hour

Schedule: Clinic hours are 9:00am to 6:00pm.

Employment Type: Full-time (30+ hours per week)

Essential Functions for ABA Therapist

• Work 1-1 with clients following individualized ABA treatment plans for children/adults with autism in a clinic setting with potential for some in-home sessions.

• Teach clients to acquire language, academic, social, and self-help skills under the supervision of a BCBA treatment plan

• Implement programs and skills that are centered around helping the client reach their full potential Assist in creating new client projects and materials

• Provide the client’s families with parent training to expand the client’s advancement opportunities. Have ongoing support and supervision in the field by BCBA level staff.

• Assists in designing and implementing behavior analytic programming as it relates to “ABA-Verbal Behavior” skill acquisition and behavior management programming

• Assists in creating, developing, and monitoring individualized programming

• Maintains reliable and consistent schedules with families

• Ensures requirements for documentation of clinical services are implemented

• Adherence to BACB guidelines for ethical conduct.

• Other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

• 1+ years’ previous experience working with children with developmental disabilities, behavioral issues, or related field.

• Must hold an RBT credential from the BACB

• Reliable Transportation

• Excellent time management skills with experience managing a caseload.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Strong commitment to providing quality behavior analytic programming.

• Enthusiastic, self-motivated to teach and learn more about Applied Behavior Analysis.

• Enthusiastic and great desire to work to with children diagnosed with autism

• To protect our clients and their families, this position requires a background check. Successful candidates will receive a conditional offer of employment, with a final confirmation to start pending the satisfactory results of the screening

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

• Able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of time

• Sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of time

License/Certification:

• CPR Certification (Required within 30 days of hire)

• RBT Certification (Required prior to start date)
