Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of relevant work experience or a Master's degree with 3 years of relevant work experience; relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
  • Excellent verbal, written, organizational, interpersonal communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work well both as part of a team and independently, with demonstrated collaboration skills across multiple units.
  • Flexibility to travel on nights and weekends as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as an active and engaged staff member in the Office of Student Engagement and the College of Liberal Arts.
  • Develop and manage assigned office procedures and records, ensuring data integrity.
  • Provide assessment for assigned programs and assist with special projects and other duties as assigned by leadership.
  • Facilitate applications to and enrollment in the College of Liberal Arts by communicating with and engaging prospective students throughout the college selection, admission, and enrollment processes via phone, email, and in-person meetings.
  • Conduct presentations and tours on the undergraduate experience, outcomes, and admissions processes for the College of Liberal Arts.
  • Facilitate weekly College of Liberal Arts general information sessions in person and virtually.
  • Meet individually with prospective students and families at the request of the President’s Office and Development Office.
  • Schedule office hours for guests and visitors to UT Austin who have expressed interest in learning more about the College of Liberal Arts.
  • Use the client relationship management database to manage engagement with prospective undergraduate students throughout the college search and enrollment processes.
  • Develop and coordinate recruitment and yield programs for the College of Liberal Arts, including on-campus events, individual and group visits, and off-campus programs.
  • Determine the appropriate audience, schedule, agenda, and venue for recruitment and yield programs.
  • Secure space and arrange audio/visual and custodial support.
  • Coordinate event-related marketing, communications, and registration.
  • Coordinate the participation of faculty, students, and staff as needed.
  • Monitor projected and actual expenditures in accordance with budget allocations.
  • Partner with the UT Office of Admissions on outreach, recruitment, and yield events, including Texas Preview Days, LEAD, Hooked on College, and Future Longhorn Dinners.
  • Collaborate with marketing and communications and College of Liberal Arts Public Affairs to create promotional materials such as brochures, emails, and videos.
  • Engage prospective students, families, schools, high school counselors, and community-based organizations using printed materials, email, social media, and departmental websites.
  • Communicate with high school admissions counselors about College of Liberal Arts majors, minors, and opportunities.
  • Promote the value of a liberal arts education to high school counselors, prospective students, and families.
  • Collaborate with College of Liberal Arts leadership and the Office of Admissions to establish undergraduate enrollment priorities.
  • Develop strategies with department chairs and College of Liberal Arts administrators to increase interest and enrollment in academic programs housed in the college.
  • Develop and maintain a strategic recruitment plan, monitor enrollment outcomes, and assess the effectiveness of recruitment activities in shaping outcomes.
  • Assist with the implementation and execution of events hosted by the Office of Admissions.
  • Travel to destinations across Texas to represent the College of Liberal Arts at admissions events and partner with admissions staff at regional offices on events and information sessions.
  • Work toward advancing the goals of the Office of Admissions, with emphasis on the College of Liberal Arts.
  • Supervise and lead the College of Liberal Arts Dean’s Ambassadors group of approximately 15–20 undergraduate students.
  • Coordinate recruitment, hiring, and training of the Dean’s Ambassadors group.
  • Coach ambassadors on public speaking and prepare them to engage with prospective students and families, the Dean’s Advisory Council, and the Parents Council.
  • Facilitate training for the paraprofessional ambassador role and collaborate to produce in-person and virtual information sessions, College of Liberal Arts tours, and other coordinated events.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with public speaking or giving presentations to large groups.
  • Experience leading one-on-one conversations and group presentations with students and families about the College of Liberal Arts.
  • Previous experience leading and managing students.
  • Familiarity with a university setting and admissions.
  • Experience with event logistics and planning.
