Responsibilities
  • Serve as the main point of contact for an assigned portfolio of clients.
  • Oversee the end-to-end accounting cycle, including day-to-day bookkeeping, monthly closings, year-end financial statements, and compliance deadlines.
  • Ensure timely delivery of accurate financial information to clients in accordance with relevant accounting standards and deadlines.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, in accordance with United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles or applicable frameworks.
  • Perform variance analysis and trend identification to support advisory insights.
  • Deliver executive summaries to clients highlighting financial health, key performance indicators, and areas for improvement.
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations accurately and promptly.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including intercompany transactions and accruals.
  • Identify discrepancies, investigate root causes, and propose corrective actions.
  • Evaluate and propose improvements to client accounting processes, internal controls, and technology tools such as automation and enterprise resource planning systems.
  • Provide clients with strategic insights and guidance to streamline operations and improve financial visibility.
  • Assist in implementing accounting best practices tailored to clients' business needs.
  • Manage intercompany reconciliations and ensure eliminations are properly accounted for.
  • Support or lead consolidation processes for clients with multi-entity structures, including foreign subsidiaries when applicable.
  • Collaborate with the tax team by providing accurate trial balances, schedules, and documentation required for tax returns.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local filing requirements by maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Support, coach, and review the work of junior accountants and interns.
  • Provide technical guidance, conduct quality control reviews, and promote a learning culture within the team.
  • Help onboard new team members and ensure adherence to internal accounting procedures.
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with clients by offering proactive support and clear communication.
  • Participate in client calls and meetings to address accounting questions and provide financial insights.
  • Understand each client's business model to offer relevant and customized advisory services.
