Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience designing transmission line systems
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
  • PE is required
  • Strong background in PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole, MFAD or LPile, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
Responsibilities
  • Designs and interprets drawings for transmission structures, foundations, hardware assemblies, underground pipe networks, grading, substation structures, overhead lines, lightning protection systems, and aluminum bus systems
  • Reviews drawings for substation equipment, vendor supplied equipment, and customer standards
  • Ensures compliance with customer specifications and design codes
  • Checks PLS-CADD models, transmission line foundations, transmission structure electrical arrangement drawings, and steel detail drawings
  • Problem solves issues related to design, construction, and compliance
  • Creates and checks material list descriptions for transmission lines
  • Answers technical questions from various stakeholders
  • Travels periodically to customer offices and job sites for project meetings and construction visits
