Requirements
  • Strong interviewing, writing, and editing skills for both digital and broadcast
  • Solid understanding of the CP Style Guide
  • A self-starter who thrives under pressure and can meet tight deadlines — including breaking news outside the 9-to-5
  • A Journalism or Digital Media diploma — or equivalent experience that proves you know your stuff
  • A valid driver’s license
Responsibilities
  • Crafting engaging, hyper-local stories for our community portals
  • Writing for radio in a voice that’s conversational, clear, and made for audio
  • Pitching and writing daily story ideas that help shape our coverage across every platform
  • Chasing leads across town, across platforms, and across timelines — phone, in-person, social media, email… you’ll use it all
  • Participating in our rotational weekend on-call schedule

  • Experience with Burli newsroom software is desirable
