Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience in audit, compliance, risk management, or a related field.
  • Advanced knowledge of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Telephone Consumer Protection Act, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act, and Unfair, Deceptive, or Abusive Acts or Practices.
  • Advanced knowledge of the unsecured, post-charge-off collection process is preferred.
  • Strong accuracy, attention to detail, analytical, organizational, problem-solving, listening, writing, project management, leadership, training, and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and maintain professionalism, dependability, integrity, and trustworthiness.
  • Ability to complete audits and projects within timelines; interpret assembled data to identify process breakdowns and potential impacts; identify process improvement opportunities; and facilitate meetings with director-level attendees.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute audit assignments efficiently, timely, and professionally.
  • Facilitate calls with servicers or internal stakeholders, review servicer and internal documentation, develop audit observations, and communicate findings to management or servicers in written reports.
  • Examine and analyze records, reports, operating practices, and documentation to ensure compliance with regulations and controls.
  • Follow up on remediation responses to ensure proper implementation and effective operation of controls.
  • Enhance existing processes and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable standards and assist with user acceptance testing of new processes.
  • Perform other audit-related duties and projects as assigned.
  • Mentor and train junior auditors.
  • Travel as needed, with a minimum of 25% travel.
