Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required (quantitative research methods coursework strongly preferred)
  • 3 or more years of professional work experience in a technical or analytic role
  • Working experience assembling and manipulating large datasets, and conducting analyses using scripts (e.g. Stata, R, Python, SQL)
  • Knowledge of relational databases and SQL queries (working experience preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Comfortable using advanced Excel skills: e.g. complex formulas, pivot tables and graphs
  • Familiarity with Brightspace or other Learning Management Systems and/or building reports in Salesforce
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to clearly communicate technical concepts with multiple cross-regional and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Demonstrated passion for educational equity and closing the opportunity gap for under-served students
Responsibilities
  • Support the development of a logic model for the national program to drive program implementation and program effectiveness evaluations; identify research questions and conduct evaluations on specific academic and instructional design choices; make recommendations for immediate program enhancements as well as on future direction of program content and services based on results
  • Work closely with R&E and other teams to streamline and elevate student data collection, analysis, and reporting for program evaluation and improvement; identify opportunities and tools to gather meaningful patterns and insights about SEO Scholars data
  • Measure and track program performance and drive program evaluation cadences
  • Provide analysis to support curriculum development and other academic program needs; map out next steps with stakeholders
  • Generate and maintain efficient data collection tracking for R&E and C&I to support managers from Programs and sites with their data collection oversight
  • Design research and data collection instruments in collaboration with the R&E and other key stakeholders; conduct literature reviews; identify research-validated instruments and items; design survey questions; support R&E with interviews, focus groups and observation data collection and analysis
  • Respond to data requests and ad hoc analyses for internal and external stakeholders; collaborate with R&E and the Development team to respond to grant and donor reporting requests and deliverables
  • Actively explore opportunities to acquire & integrate new data sources to expand breadth & depth of analysis
  • Build and lead presentations to provide compelling stories about synthesized SEO Scholars data
  • Support the design and implementation of data models and database enhancements (including Brightspace, Domo and Salesforce), in collaboration with R&E and key stakeholders like Online Learning and the SEO Salesforce team
  • Support the design, use and dissemination of reporting tools for various internal stakeholders (executives, senior leadership team, and stakeholders across the business) including reports and dashboards
  • Establish processes for managing and responding to data requests and ad hoc analyses for internal and external stakeholders
  • Support the development, maintenance and enhancement of data security and privacy policies and practices around the use of instructor and scholar data
  • Support communication and workflows with external consultants to support R&E data analysis and management projects, as needed
  • Manage key initiatives on a project basis, collaborate closely with cross-functional teams
  • Work closely with C&I and Program teams to (1) identify needs for new analysis products or tools and serve as project manager for implementation and (2) support consistent and productive collaboration between instructional and programming staff, centering student data as a shared and accessible tool
  • Own and deliver a data literacy curriculum to foster staff competency with manipulating data and extracting insights to drive decision making, including trainings for new staff and refreshers
  • Facilitate data reviews and workshops to drive strategic decision-making based on program data and student outcomes
  • Plan and facilitate other trainings for full time and part time staff and program participants, as needed
