Requirements
  • At least a high school diploma or GED equivalency is required.
  • At least two years of experience in telecommunications or a related technical field is required, along with the ability to supervise others.
  • Proficiency with the listed hand tools and telecommunications tools is required.
  • The ability to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including specifications, reporting, and quality requirements, is required.
  • Knowledge of universal communications color codes is required.
  • Candidates must meet the company's minimum driving standards.
  • Candidates must be able to work at heights, off ladders, and in confined spaces; lift up to 50 pounds; and move up to 75 pounds.
  • Candidates must be able to distinguish colors, read small print, and recognize audible signals such as dial tones.
  • Candidates must be able to travel within branch or regional territories as needed.
  • Regular attendance is mandatory.
Responsibilities
  • Install floor- and wall-mounted work area outlets, terminate Category 3 and Category 5 jacks, and correctly mount faceplates and surface-mount boxes.
  • Build telecommunications closets by installing backboards, cross-connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic components, and related hardware.
  • Install grounding for racks, equipment, and cable as required.
  • Complete all intermediate distribution frame connections, including terminating 110 and 66 blocks and patch panels.
  • Test continuity on horizontal and riser cable using a volt-ohmmeter and troubleshoot opens, crosses, shorts, and transposed pairs.
  • Use a tone set and identify active voice or data circuits.
  • Coordinate small groups of installers, manage personnel and project timelines, and ensure effective crew performance.
  • Provide necessary training to crew members.
  • Complete IES Commercial paperwork accurately and on time, including timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, and tool transfers.
  • Follow and participate in company, customer, and industry quality and safety standards and regulations.
  • Serve as a liaison with customer representatives.
  • Support project process improvements and promote company culture and mission to employees, vendors, clients, and business partners.
  • Complete other assigned responsibilities.

IES Holdings subsidiary IES Infrastructure has agreed to acquire Broadwind Heavy Fabrications' production facility in Abilene, Texas, for up to $19.5 million. The deal includes real property, equipment, machinery and related assets, with consideration comprising cash and non-cash value tied to a below-market lease arrangement. Approximately 140 employees involved in wind tower manufacturing are expected to transfer to IES Infrastructure after the lease term ends. The transaction was announced on 5 May 2026, following a definitive agreement signed on 30 April. IES Holdings reported second-quarter adjusted earnings per share of $4.16, up from $3.30 year-on-year, with revenue rising to $974.2 million from $834 million. The company maintains a backlog of approximately $3.9 billion, driven by strong demand in data centres and communications infrastructure.
