Requirements
  • One year of relevant safety experience.
  • Working knowledge of construction safety principles, techniques, and methods.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Ability to identify potential exposures and recommend corrective actions.
  • Computer skills and familiarity with the Microsoft Suite.
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle a varied and changing workload.
  • Proven ability to identify and solve problems.
  • Ability to work independently and manage oneself effectively.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • First Aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and automated external defibrillator qualification.
Responsibilities
  • Support safety efforts on construction projects and promote the company’s safety culture.
  • Pre-plan subcontractor activities, including safety items through scope review, pre-construction meetings, and job hazard analysis reviews.
  • Ensure subcontractors meet the company’s safety submittal requirements.
  • Assist with maintaining safety-related documentation for construction projects.
  • Ensure subcontractor compliance with the company’s safety plan and expectations, as well as OSHA, federal, state, and other regulatory codes and guidelines.
  • Make safety or health recommendations concerning situational hazards to associates and workers.
  • Use Procore to audit and monitor project teams’ implementation of the Project Specific Safety Plan.
  • Perform at least one safety walk per week on assigned projects using a mock OSHA investigation.
  • Assist in providing safety training to project associates and subcontractors to meet client and OSHA requirements as needed.
  • Ensure construction project teams have appropriate safety equipment and resources.
  • Build effective relationships with customers, design teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and user groups.
  • Participate in company training programs and commit to professional self-development.
Desired Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree or board certification in Safety or a related field is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to develop relationships.
  • A self-starter attitude.
