Requirements
  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency program.
  • Completion of an accredited Gastroenterology fellowship program.
  • Board-eligible or board-certified in Gastroenterology.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensure.
  • DEA registration or eligibility.
  • Expertise in outpatient gastroenterology and endoscopic procedures.
  • Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to manage chronic gastrointestinal conditions longitudinally.
  • Commitment to evidence-based, high-quality patient care.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods during procedures.
  • Manual dexterity and stamina for endoscopic care.
  • Visual and auditory acuity sufficient for clinical and procedural environments.
Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and manage patients with gastrointestinal conditions including gastroesophageal reflux disease, irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease, pancreatic disorders, and colorectal conditions.
  • Provide outpatient gastroenterology clinic care and longitudinal follow-up.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures consistent with training and privileges, including upper endoscopy and colonoscopy.
  • Participate in colorectal cancer screening and prevention initiatives.
  • Interpret diagnostic studies including pathology, imaging, and laboratory results.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with primary care providers and specialists such as hepatology, surgery, oncology, and nutrition services.
  • Educate patients regarding diagnoses, treatment options, procedural risks and benefits, and preventive care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and outcomes initiatives.
  • Supervise and educate advanced practice providers, residents, or clinical staff as applicable.
  • Comply with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards.
