WellSky has partnered with Google Cloud to integrate AI capabilities into its CarePort solutions, creating an AI-powered provider directory for hospital discharge planning. The system uses Google Cloud's Vertex AI, Gemini models and BigQuery to continuously update provider data, reflecting real-time changes in services, insurance acceptance and coverage areas. The technology addresses the challenge of maintaining current provider directories, which hospitals use to guide post-acute care discharge decisions. By automating data validation, the system reduces manual verification needs and helps hospitals match patients with appropriate post-acute providers based on real-time availability and expertise. WellSky serves more than 20,000 client sites, including hospital systems, home health franchises and post-acute providers. The company will showcase the new capabilities at the ACMA National Conference in Orlando from 20-23 April.
WellSky has expanded its SkySense AI platform to long-term care and skilled nursing facilities, embedding artificial intelligence capabilities within its electronic health record system. The technology aims to reduce administrative burden and improve clinician productivity across post-acute care settings. The platform includes three key features: WellSky Extract, which uses AI to capture information from documents and populate EHR data, saving an average of 30 minutes per admission; WellSky Scribe, which provides ambient listening and transcription that has reduced documentation time by up to 50% in home health settings; and WellSky Summarize, which generates medical record summaries for quality assurance and risk identification. The expansion supports WellSky's strategy to help providers adapt to value-based care models through improved data structure and operational efficiency.
WellSky has launched WellSky Summarize for Personal Care, an AI-powered solution that generates concise summaries of client care information for non-skilled home care agencies. The tool is now available at no additional cost to US-based WellSky Personal Care clients. Embedded within the WellSky Personal Care platform, the solution uses AI to distill detailed activity data, visit notes and caregiver comments into actionable summaries covering 7- to 60-day periods. Early adopter Senior Solutions Home Care reports the technology saves hours of administrative work and helps identify care trends that might otherwise be missed. WellSky has launched AI-powered referral management workflows to help home health and hospice providers automate patient intake processes. The new capabilities, delivered through WellSky Enterprise Referral Manager and powered by WellSky SkySense AI, automatically assess and prioritise inbound referrals using configurable quality scores. The system can automatically accept, decline or route referrals for review whilst maintaining human oversight. AI-powered data extraction summarises key information including anticipated services and specialty needs for clinician review.
