Requirements
  • Position requires identifying client needs and expectations and communicating those needs to applicable individuals; obtaining client feedback regarding work performance and facilitating implementation of process improvements; addressing and resolving issues related to project scope changes, quality of services, cost, or schedule.
  • Experience in the nuclear power industry is required with actual field experience on nuclear plant projects a plus.
  • Education Required: BS in engineering or other technical specialty from an accredited university with coursework in mechanical, electrical, chemical or similar technical scope.
  • Experience Required: 15 years minimum experience with at least 8 of those years with nuclear power including design engineering, project management and client relations.
  • Experience with operating plant procedures, processes, nuclear plant licensing, budget analysis and budget forecasting is required.
  • Demonstrated experience managing, motivating and organizing team members; providing technical direction and task assignments is required.
  • Must be able to pass security and drug screening and maintain unescorted nuclear plant access is required.
  • Knowledge of and experience in project scheduling techniques required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint with competency in software applications for email and databases.
  • Ability to travel to plant locations is required.
  • Education Preferred: MS in engineering or other technical specialty from an accredited university with coursework in mechanical, electrical, chemical, or similar technical scope is desired.
  • Certification(s) or License(s) Preferred (minimum): Professional Engineering registration (EIT or PE), and Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification are highly preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Identify client needs and expectations, including upcoming major projects, and communicate those needs to applicable individuals.
  • Obtain client feedback regarding work performance and facilitate implementation of process improvements as appropriate.
  • Work with client to address and resolve issues related to project scope changes, quality of services, cost, or schedule.
  • Coordinate preparation of proposals for client work by working with Discipline Engineering Managers and Account Managers to develop project scope, approach, technical assumptions, staffing, schedule, and pricing.
  • Monitor the status of all ongoing projects including budget, schedule, scope changes, review of deliverables relative to scope and client expectations, participation in company weekly schedule meetings and preparation of monthly status reports.
  • Ensure contractual requirements are met, address and resolve contractual issues, initiate contract changes, and facilitate payment for services.
  • Review, approve and correct invoices applicable to project work.
  • Understand and communicate to company staff client’s processes and procedures, and facilitate training of company staff when needed.
  • Coordinate projects from earliest phases to budgets, design through issuance of construction drawings, and final project completion close-out.
  • Prepare Project Plans, budgets and schedules and be responsible to control the project scope, budget and schedule.

Zachry Group awarded Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract for NiSource's Combined Cycle Generation Project. SAN ANTONIO-(BUSINESS WIRE)-Zachry Group (Zachry) has been awarded the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract for NiSource Inc.'s Combined Cycle Generation Project, a major infrastructure project located near Wheatfield, Indiana. The facility will support NiSource's delivery of electricity to a third-party customer and includes two nominal 1,300-megawatt gas-fired combined cycle units in a 2 x 2 x 1 configuration. A subsidiary of NiSource Inc. will own and operate the facility. The EPC contract will be executed by a joint venture between Zachry Group and Quanta Services, Inc. (Quanta). Zachry will lead engineering, procurement, project management, construction planning, and commissioning, drawing on its five decades of experience designing and building over 100 gas-fired facilities totaling more than 60,000 megawatts. Quanta will contribute field-level leadership and craft workforce management through its operating companies. This collaborative approach is designed to enhance execution certainty, optimize labor resources, and deliver cost-effective, high-quality infrastructure.
