Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent; college education in related field preferred but not required.
  • One or more years’ experience in a professional customer service/cash handling and/or financial services environment.
  • Completion of The Dime Bank’s Universal Banker I curriculum with passing test scores and demonstrated proficiency/mentoring for Universal Banker II.
  • An Associate degree in related field is preferred for Universal Banker II.
  • Two years’ experience in a professional customer service/cash handling and/or financial services environment for Universal Banker II.
  • Completion of The Dime Bank’s Universal Banker II curriculum with passing test scores and demonstrated proficiency/mentoring for Universal Banker III.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in related field is preferred for Universal Banker III.
  • More than three years’ experience in a professional customer service/cash handling and/or financial services environment for Universal Banker III.
Responsibilities
  • Provide prompt, courteous service to customers and prospective customers during teller transactions, new deposit account opening, consumer loan processes, and other financial service interactions.
  • Maintain frequent customer contact and strive to retain customers, deepen relationships, and generate new business.
  • Support a team environment between branches and partners within specialty departments to enhance the customer experience.
  • Take ownership and manage the training and mentorship requirement through completion for your level of the Universal Banker Curriculum/Development Program.
  • Adhere to all curriculum learned within your UB competency level relative to associated procedures, policies, regulations and compliance.
  • Learn and demonstrate proficiency with skills in system platforms necessary to fulfill customer needs within your UB competency level.
  • Hone your proficiency using the consultative approach to enhance the customer experience by sharing the benefits and features of all applicable Dime Bank products and services.
  • Acts as a resource and mentor to less experienced Universal Bankers.
  • Perform other operational duties as delegated by Branch Manager.
  • Promote a good image of the bank in the community by volunteering for civic and community activities as an individual and as part of a team.
  • Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the office as well as with other departments in order to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information.
  • Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the workplace.
  • Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the Bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested, or according to an established schedule; compiles information as necessary or as directed and provides data to appropriate Bank personnel.
  • Responds to inquiries relating to his/her area, or to requests from customers, other Bank personnel, etc., within given time frames and within established policy.
