Job Description:
UPS is seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic University Relations and Inclusion & Diversity Specialist to attract premier professional and technical candidates utilizing a variety of successful recruiting channels. The University Relations and Inclusion & Diversity Specialist develops and manages relationships with College/University Career Service departments, Colleges and Schools, Deans, Professors and works with leadership with diversity groups and transition service offices at military bases. S/he extends job offers to internal and external candidates. This Specialist travels up to 50% of the time and supports engagements at colleges, veteran events, diversity organizations and various affinity groups.
S/he reviews resumes, conducts HR fit phone interviews, and presents potential best-fit candidates to the hiring manager for consideration. S/he actively sources candidates to ensure requisition needs are promptly filled with quality hires. This Specialist monitors employment processes to ensure legal compliance and makes recommendations for process improvements. S/he sources and recruits candidates using a variety of outlets, such as job postings and social media, while targeting ideal candidates for the job. The University Relations and Inclusion & Diversity Specialist develops relationships with prospective talent and creates and manages talent pipelines for various positions.
Responsibilities and Duties
Manages candidate flow through the Workday Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
Updates management team on job requisition exceptions (ex: hard-to-fill jobs, aging requisitions, etc.)
Follows-up with the hiring manager on interview results
Monitors the sourcing process to ensure hiring needs are met timely and SLAs are fulfilled
Extends job offers to candidates including compensation package details
Owns relationships at UPS Target Universities and assigned diversity groups
Participates in internal UPS Business Relationship Groups (BRGs) to identify UPSers who can champion UPS employment efforts
Supports engagements at colleges, veterans events, diversity organizations and various affinity groups
Consults with hiring manager on talent needs and reviews SLAs upon approval of new requisitions
Advises hiring manager throughout entire employment process and provides continuous updates
Selects applicants, reviews resumes, and identifies candidates with basic job qualifications
Presents minimally qualified resumes to hiring manager for review
Coordinates all necessary assessments with the local HR contact
Works on various projects assigned by their leadership team
Knowledge and Skills
Detail oriented with demonstrated experience soliciting and gathering information
Analytical with ability to conduct research, assess and summarize data, and provide solutions
Bachelor’s degree (or internationally comparable degree) - Preferred
Experience with college/university recruitment activities - Preferred
Experience with company benefits - Preferred
Strong research and data analytics skills – Preferred
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be a U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer
Employer will not sponsor a visa for this or future positions
Must have experience demonstrating techniques for soliciting and gathering information
Must be available to travel up to 50%, including frequent travel during spring and fall college recruiting seasons
Must have experience working in a team focused environment
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office including advanced level functions in Excel, Access and PowerPoint. PowerBI is a plus.
Must be domiciled in the New Jersey area and able to go into the office as needed
