Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering, electronics, or related technical disciplines
  • 8+ years of direct experience in developing, supporting, and/or testing of relevant electronic products, covering subsystems such as: Low voltage cables, Embedded controller, SPI, I2C and CAN bus, Thermal control using TEC device, Stepper/BLDC motor driver, AC to DC power supplies
  • Ability to present technical information for audiences ranging from non-technical supporting roles to executive team
  • Demonstrated problem-solving experience with a focus on root cause analysis and debugging electromechanical systems required
  • Advanced experience in schematic and layout design with Altium (preferred)
  • Familiarity with quality management systems and regulatory requirements (ISO 13485, FDA regulations) preferred
  • Related experience in microcontroller programming
  • Demonstrated collaboration skills to influence good electrical, FW, and systems design practices
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, interdisciplinary environment and quickly adjust to rapidly evolving technology and priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of clearly explaining technical issues, ideas, and project status to peers and management
Responsibilities
  • Subject Matter Expert on Electrical Engineering for Instrument Operations Team. Provide training and guidance to staff on electrical engineering and robust design control.
  • Update schematics and layouts for PCBAs for various distributed subsystems. Design and build automatic test fixtures. Update cable designs.
  • Investigate and address manufacturing issues through root cause analysis, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Support qualification of new suppliers for PCBAs, cables, and test fixtures. Solid understanding of electronic component lifecycles and the management thereof.
  • Work closely with Quality Control and Assurance teams to establish and maintain rigorous quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive manufacturing documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, and process flowcharts.
