Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related STEM field and 2+ years of experience in a quality assurance, mission assurance, or related engineering role.
  • Must be familiar with standard Visual and Mechanical Inspection techniques and tools.
  • Experience in reading/interpreting engineering drawings and specifications and familiarity with GD&T
  • Experience participating in root cause analysis and corrective action (RCCA) activities
  • Good computer skills: Proficiency in use of Microsoft Windows, Powerpoint, and Excel
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance (US Citizenship required).

Responsibilities
  • Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.
  • The Quality Engineer develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product.
  • Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality issues are addressed through MRB and that production is supported.
  • Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
  • Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.
  • Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
  • Applies lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies in support of production Continuous Improvement activities.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience using SAP in a manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with standard inspection and non-destructive testing techniques and tools in a fabrication, machining, and assembly environment.
  • Expertise in reading/interpreting engineering drawings and specifications, including GD&T
  • Experience developing, collecting, and analyzing metrics.
  • Experience leading root cause analysis and corrective action activities
  • Experience planning and managing projects
  • Experience conducting or managing internal audits
  • Experience in an ISO 9001/AS9100 Quality Management System Environment
  • Experience working on DOD contracts and on Supplier Quality efforts
