Requirements
  • A High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing or production environment is preferred.
  • Experience operating industrial processing or packaging equipment is a plus.
  • Familiarity with whey or cheese processes is beneficial but not required.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures and quality requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts in a production setting.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout a manufacturing facility for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 55 lbs unassisted, repeatedly.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders as required by the process.
  • Ability to work in warm processing areas, cool rooms, and around operating equipment.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
Responsibilities
  • Operate assigned whey processing and packaging equipment, including systems such as Permeate Packaging, WPC Dryer, Membrane, Evaporator, Dryer, and Line CIP.
  • Perform equipment start-ups, shutdowns, and routine operational checks.
  • Monitor processes to ensure product quality, accuracy of product identification, and compliance with specifications.
  • Identify and troubleshoot routine operational or mechanical issues and escalate concerns as needed.
  • Complete required production, quality, and food safety documentation accurately and timely.
  • Follow all Food Safety Management System, GMP, and safety requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Participate in department meetings, trainings, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on operational needs.

YFM exits Protein Works with 10.8x return after growing revenue from $16.5M to $70M

YFM has exited Protein Works following its acquisition by Lactalis, the world's leading dairy company, achieving a 10.8x cash multiple after seven years of partnership. YFM backed the sports nutrition brand through its Buyout Fund in 2019 when the business generated £13 million in revenue and operated almost entirely in the UK. The firm repositioned the company from sports nutrition into mainstream lifestyle nutrition whilst investing £11 million in a purpose-built manufacturing facility in Liverpool. Under YFM's ownership, revenue grew to approximately £55 million, gross margins improved significantly, and the customer base expanded to over 2.5 million with meaningful international presence. The acquisition by Lactalis provides Protein Works with access to deeper distribution and broader resources within one of the world's largest food and beverage groups.

Danone Agrees to Sell Swedish Probiotic Brand ProViva to Lactalis

Danone has entered into an agreement to sell its Swedish probiotic fruit juices brand, ProViva, to the French dairy group Lactalis. This transaction involves the sale of the Österlenmejeriet factory located in Lunnarp, Skåne County, in southeastern Sweden. The factory is Danone's only facility in Sweden and has previously received a Skr140m (approximately $16.9m) investment in 2020.
