  • Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical or relevant discipline)
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) accreditation (as per local requirements)
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in an engineering design, consultancy or operational environment
  • Proven experience working on mineral processing projects
  • Strong technical design capability and ability to lead and review engineering work
Responsibilities
  • Ensure engineering designs comply with Sedgman design workflows, systems, procedures, and standards
  • Drive continuous improvement of electrical design systems and tools
  • Investigate and implement innovative engineering solutions to meet client and project commitments
  • Liaise with engineers, project management, and senior leadership to resolve design issues and assist with client negotiations
  • Support technical inputs into Requests for Quotation (RFQs) and technical documentation
  • Engage with clients throughout project delivery to ensure expectations, standards, and outcomes are achieved
  • Provide engineering support to project teams in line with management direction while maximising utilisation
  • Develop, produce, and monitor engineering man hour budgets across concept, study, tender, and detailed design phases
  • Manage engineering administration including work scheduling, prioritisation, and resource planning
  • Ensure delivery against agreed schedule, quality, budget, and client satisfaction targets
  • Contribute to project reporting including progress, resourcing, cost tracking, and work allocation
  • Define, recommend, and apply appropriate electrical design methodologies, specifications, and functional performance requirements
  • Undertake or supervise feasibility studies and technical reports
  • Undertake or supervise design layouts and system/circuit diagrams
  • Undertake or supervise specifications, bills of quantities, material lists, and cost estimates
  • Provide required information to drafting personnel for accurate and compliant drawing production
  • Conduct site inspections and liaise with suppliers, contractors, consultants, and commissioning teams
  • Ensure project time and cost KPIs are achieved through effective monitoring of design efficiency, resources, and scheduling
  • Ensure all checking and review processes are completed and documented
  • Review designs for technical accuracy, compliance with Australian and International Standards, alignment with Sedgman standards and project execution plans
  • Support estimating, budgeting, and basic document control functions
  • Participate in the development and continuous improvement of Sedgman’s Quality Management System
  • Apply Sedgman standard specifications and typical/standard drawings in line with current industry best practice
