Requirements
  • Degree in materials/chemical engineering, chemistry or related field with 10+ years of experience in materials and chemical process development (5+ years in a leadership role)
  • Experience with XRD, TGA, SEM, optical microscopy, GC-MS, ICP, GPC, HPLC and wet chemistry analyses
  • Experience establishing QC protocols, LIMS, and analytical support for scale-up of chemical and/or materials manufacturing processes
  • Experience managing an R&D team and custom pilot-line equipment and technicians
  • Highly organized with sharp attention to numerical detail
  • Excited to work on a small fast-paced startup team with a drive to succeed and grow with the company
Responsibilities
  • Develop complex new processes from start to finish
  • Lead experimental programs for process and formulation development
  • Work cross-functionally with process and mechanical engineers to ensure technoeconomic feasibility of new processes
  • Manage pilot production line for ongoing operations and development of process and formulation changes
  • Establish QC and materials analysis infrastructure for the upcoming commercial bead manufacturing facility
  • Interface with downstream ion-exchange technology team to ensure high performance of beads globally and at scale
  • Up to 20% travel
