Requirements
  • Real technical depth in cloud infrastructure, data systems, or machine learning platforms; ability to review architecture, debug production, and make tradeoffs, not just delegate them.
  • Owned a product surface end-to-end at a senior individual contributor level; set the technical bar by what you ship and how you review, and raised the team around you without formal management.
  • Ability to operate without a clean roadmap and to turn ambiguity into a plan with owners and timelines.
  • Cares about production quality, with focus on observability, incident response, and release discipline; builds habits and systems.
  • Has strong opinions about how agentic coding tools change what a small team can build; actively shapes how the team works with artificial intelligence, with judgment to know where it helps and where it creates new failure modes.
  • Is pulled by the mission; understands that AI infrastructure is built on a foundation not designed for it; sees Verdigris as the trustworthy layer.
  • Partners with Product as a peer, translating customer escalations, analytics signals, and operator workflows into a build plan with owners and timelines
Responsibilities
  • Own the engineering side of the platform roadmap for the cloud platform, coordinating Observability, Intelligence, and Orchestration pillars.
  • Ship code in production, debug the hardest reliability and performance problems, write RFCs, and anchor the engineering operating cadence as a contributor.
  • Audit the platform in the first six months covering reliability, scalability, observability, and technical debt; form your own view.
  • Organize ownership across the three-pillar stack: Ingestion and the 8 kHz pipeline; ML signal processing and validated operating limits; the APIs, MCPs, and workflows that deliver them; own the engineering roadmap.
  • Anchor the engineering operating cadence as a contributor and bar-setter: roadmaps, incident reviews, delivery planning, architecture reviews.
  • Get hands dirty on the hardest reliability and performance problems and ship fixes.
  • Establish AI-native development practices on the team with real tooling norms, shared view on where agentic coding accelerates, and where it creates new risk.
  • Raise the hiring bar through interview rigor and design-review presence; surface gaps in the team.
  • Success by 12 months includes improved platform reliability and deployment velocity, predictable customer product surface, an engineering roadmap that others trust, hiring of 1-2 individuals through interview rigor, and well-architected foundations enabling machine-facing orchestration APIs.

Verdigris provides energy management solutions for commercial real estate, data centers, hospitality, logistics, and manufacturing. It uses hardware energy meters installed in electrical panels along with AI-powered software analytics to deliver circuit-level data on energy use. This enables clients to monitor usage, detect equipment issues before they affect operations, receive alerts for unusual energy activity, and compare performance across properties. Its Adaptive Automation feature learns usage patterns and automatically optimizes HVAC controls to lower energy costs without sacrificing comfort or efficiency. The business model combines hardware sales with ongoing software subscriptions. Verdigris aims to help customers cut energy expenses, improve operational efficiency, and maintain high reliability of electrical systems through precise data and actionable insights.

Southwire invests in Verdigris to advance AI-native electrical intelligence for data centers

Southwire, North America's leading wire and cable manufacturer, has made a strategic investment in Verdigris Technologies, an AI-native electrical intelligence company focused on AI-scale data centre infrastructure. The investment amount was not disclosed. Verdigris provides a cloud-first platform that captures high-frequency electrical data at circuit level, sampling thousands of times per second to deliver sub-second visibility into load behaviour, power quality and early fault conditions. The technology is designed for AI workloads that demand unprecedented power density in modern data centres. The company's platform is already deployed across mission-critical data centres for Fortune 500 companies in the US. Southwire and Verdigris are working to integrate the electrical intelligence technology into select Southwire offerings for AI-scale infrastructure.
