Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Ability to obtain a Florida State Jessica Lunsford Act Badge is required.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a technician role is required.
  • At least 2 years of experience in commercial building construction related to structured cabling, security, access control, closed-circuit television, audio/visual, paging, nurse call, or sound masking is required.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
  • Must own hand tools.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 50%.
  • Must be able to stand, kneel, and crouch for long periods.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding.
  • Must be able to lift more than 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in high places and confined spaces.
  • Must be able to work varying hours, including possible weekend shifts.
  • A valid driver's license and clean driving record are required.
  • A current passport is required for overseas travel.
  • Required certifications or licenses must be obtained and maintained throughout the project or contract.
  • Must communicate verbally and in writing with government, military, contractor, customer, and company personnel.
  • Must adhere to Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards.
  • The position may require a U.S. government security clearance.
  • Pre-employment substance-abuse testing and background checks are required.
Responsibilities
  • Install card readers, door contacts, motion request-to-exit devices, intercoms, motion detectors, glass-break detectors, speakers, nurse-call lights, push buttons, and patient stations.
  • Install and terminate low-voltage cabling.
  • Terminate, test, and label end-user devices and build out communications rooms.
  • Use industry standards and company-approved installation methods and techniques.
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable authority-having-jurisdiction codes and industry standards.
  • Follow plans, specifications, and wiring diagrams.
  • Maintain communication with the site superintendent or project manager to ensure work quality, performance, materials, schedules, and expectations are met.
  • Follow and maintain proper safety practices.
  • Work in indoor and field environments, including varying weather and site conditions.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, aerial or motorized lifts, test equipment, and general computer and network equipment as required.
  • Operate motor vehicles safely and responsibly when required.
  • Work any assigned shift or designated hours, including possible night and weekend work.
  • Travel to varying field locations as required.
