Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with 0–1 year of experience, specializing in radio frequency design, including relevant radio frequency coursework, radio-frequency/microwave circuit design experience through industry exposure, or radio-frequency-related academic capstone projects.
  • A strong academic foundation including relevant coursework in radio frequency and microwave engineering principles.
  • Theoretical and basic practical knowledge of designing common radio frequency circuits such as filters, couplers, power dividers, and baluns.
  • Familiarity with electromagnetic simulation tools based on the Method of Moments and Finite Element Method.
  • Demonstrated experience using radio frequency measurement test equipment.
  • Proficiency in scripting and data analysis using Python, MATLAB, or another coding language.
  • A professional, self-motivated, disciplined approach with strong relationship-building ability.
  • A strong sense of accountability and ownership of assigned tasks.
  • Strong relationship-management, project-management, and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive approach, including seeking clarification, asking questions, and following up on action items.
  • Curiosity and eagerness to learn, especially in radio frequency design.

Responsibilities
  • Support radio frequency design and development activities for passive radio frequency, millimeter-wave components, packages, and multifunction modules under the guidance of a Senior Engineer.
  • Execute electromagnetic and circuit-level simulations using tools such as Ansys HFSS, Genesys, Advanced Design System, or CST.
  • Model designs and run simulation sweeps, parametric studies, and optimizations as directed; analyze and summarize results.
  • Assist with radio frequency measurements and characterization using laboratory equipment such as vector network analyzers, power supplies, spectrum analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze measured and simulated data to support design reviews, reports, and design-related decisions.
  • Prepare documentation to support Mini-Circuits’ Product Generation Process.
  • Support product characterization, qualification, and test-development activities in collaboration with Product, Manufacturing, Quality, and Test Engineers.
  • Work with the Project Management team to plan and execute assigned tasks within committed timelines and budget.
  • Support the engineering organization in ISO audits and management reviews and participate in internal and external audits.
  • Assist the Senior Engineer in drafting company procedures and processes to maintain design and manufacturing standards.
  • Collaborate with peers in creating intellectual property related to materials and processes, circuit topologies, design methodologies and techniques, simulation software, modeling techniques, device-characterization techniques, and production-testing strategies.
  • Create scripts and execute simulation runs to optimize the performance of passive radio frequency, microwave, and millimeter-wave components.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience designing active components such as low-noise amplifiers and power amplifiers, RF systems, or modules.
  • Academic publications in the radio frequency domain.

Mini-Circuits Launches Wideband Digital Step Attenuator from 0.1 to 24 GHz

Mini-Circuits launches wideband digital step attenuator from 0.1 to 24 GHz. Mini-Circuits has introduced the ZX76-24G-30-S+, a 50 ohm coaxial solid-state digital step attenuator designed for wideband RF applications spanning 0.1 to 24 GHz. Engineered for precision and flexibility, the attenuator offers programmable attenuation from 0 to 31.5 dB in 0.5 dB steps, providing fine control over signal levels across a wide frequency range. The ZX76-24G-30-S+ features a 6-bit parallel control interface that requires no external clock and supports dual (+3.3 V / -3.0 V) or single-supply operation (+3.3 V to +5.4 V). Built for durability in demanding environments, it delivers high input IP3 performance of +50 dBm, good return loss (typical 15 dB), and glitch-free attenuation transitions, making it well-suited for test instrumentation, communication infrastructure, and defense applications such as radar, EW, ECM, and SATCOM systems. The device's robust design also ensures immunity to latch-up and stable operation from 0°C to +50°C, while supporting input power levels up to +22 dBm. It operates with an insertion loss as low as 3 dB (typically) up to 13 GHz and 4.5 dB (typically) up to 24 GHz. To simplify integration, Mini-Circuits includes a CBL-5FT-MPD+ pigtail control cable, featuring stripped wire ends and a pre-mounted connector for easy interface with the attenuator's 10-pin digital control port.
