Responsibilities
  • Oversee the entire product release process, including planning, execution, and post-release activities.

  • Develop and control comprehensive validation plans to verify product performance and reliability.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate product risks to minimize potential issues and ensure product safety.

Munich Electrification unveils new solid-state relay. The solid-state relay reflects a shift toward treating fleet uptime as a deciding purchase factor for electric trucks * August 11, 2026 Munich Electrification (ME) is unveiling its solid-state relay (ME SSR) at IAA Transportation 2026 in Hanover, targeting high-voltage battery disconnect systems in e-trucks and e-buses. The unit acts as a central switch between battery and drivetrain, connecting power during operation and disconnecting it when parked, during servicing or in a fault. As electric commercial fleets scale, uptime is becoming a critical factor in drivetrain design. The ME SSR replaces mechanical contactors and pyrotechnic fuses, switching high-voltage circuits within microseconds without arcing or wear. Munich Electrification said the unit is configurable, self-testing and offers resettable short-circuit protection, so a fault no longer forces a blown fuse and vehicle downtime. The company said this improves drivetrain availability, supports functional safety to commercial vehicle standards, adds shock and vibration resistance, and simplifies integration by cutting components. The ME SSR is offered as a drop-in for disconnect units, or as an integrated module, ME SSR Next, combining switching and sensor technology for new platforms. In a statement, Timo Völkl, chief technology officer at Munich Electrification, said: 'The ME SSR switches purely electronically: wear-free, in under five microseconds, and resettable after every fault.' He said this keeps vehicles in operation rather than in the workshop, extending the company's portfolio from battery management into high-voltage switching.
