  • Qualified accountant with membership of a recognised professional accountancy body, such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent, with approximately 2–4 years of post-qualification experience.
  • Audit-trained experience and/or experience in fintech, payments, or broader financial services.
  • Strong double-entry accounting and month-end close fundamentals, including experience with complex group structures, multiple entities and currencies, intercompany accounting, and balance sheet substantiation.
  • Hands-on enterprise resource planning experience, advanced Excel skills, and confidence handling large, intricate data sets.
  • Ability to document processes, apply reconciliation policies and materiality thresholds, and support audit and internal-control-over-financial-reporting requirements.
  • Ability to take ownership, work to tight deadlines, communicate clearly with senior stakeholders, and constructively challenge existing processes.
Responsibilities
  • Own key elements of the group month-end close, including preparation and review of prepayment, accrual, payroll, intercompany, foreign-exchange, balance-sheet-revaluation, and general-ledger journals and postings across multiple entities and currencies.
  • Prepare and review balance-sheet reconciliations in line with group policy and materiality thresholds, ensuring balances are substantiated, ageing items are resolved, and issues are escalated with clear analysis.
  • Perform intercompany reviews of postings, reconciliations, and settlements; support clearance of historical balances; and contribute to implementation of an intercompany automation module.
  • Support foreign-exchange accounting across the group by documenting and strengthening the end-to-end foreign-exchange process, ownership, and controls.
  • Drive process-improvement and automation initiatives within the general-ledger team using Dynamics 365 and artificial-intelligence-enabled tools to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy.
  • Provide timely support for half-year reviews and year-end audits, own assigned deliverables end to end, and contribute to remediation of audit findings.
  • Collaborate with Financial Control, New Products, Statutory Reporting, and Finance Transformation teams to support knowledge-sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Deputise for the General Ledger Manager when required and undertake ad hoc financial-control projects.
  • Deliver accurate close activities within the agreed timetable, maintain substantiated reconciliations, resolve intercompany and foreign-exchange issues, and provide reliable manager cover when required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Dynamics 365.
  • An interest in automation and artificial-intelligence-enabled finance tools.
  • A strong academic background, ideally including a university degree in Business, Accounting, or a related discipline.

Boku operates a global mobile payments network that lets online businesses accept payments through direct carrier billing and mobile wallets. It connects merchants to mobile operators and digital wallets, enabling customers to pay with their phone number and have charges appear on a carrier bill or deducted from a wallet balance. It stands out by emphasizing carrier billing and mobile-wallet payments at scale across many countries, especially in markets with low credit-card penetration, rather than relying on traditional card gateways. The goal is to help brands monetize services globally by providing a simple, bank-agnostic way for consumers to pay using their mobile accounts.
