Software Engineer II

Built is looking for a Software Engineer to join our Draw Management team. Draws are central to Built’s platform, responsible for processing 10% of all U.S construction spend and serving as the critical link between lenders and borrowers. In this role, you will directly impact our mission to simplify and expedite the draw process, driving faster turnaround times and improving the experience for all stakeholders involved. As a member of the Draw Management team, you will build scalable, sustainable solutions that enhance our platform’s ability to streamline financial workflows. Your work will ensure our system is performant, reliable, and aligned with our shift towards an event-driven architecture. You’ll take ownership of your code, actively monitor performance, write documentation, and collaborate with your team to deliver impactful features.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain solutions that simplify the draw process, reducing turnaround times and improving user experience.

• Collaborate with the team to deliver high-quality features while minimizing technical debt.

• Actively address issue backlogs by identifying pain points, prioritizing resolutions, and driving fixes via pull requests or other means.

• Provide and receive thoughtful, respectful, and constructive feedback through peer code reviews.

• Participate in team discussions with a collaborative mindset, valuing diverse perspectives.

• Maintain high standards for code quality, documentation, and performance monitoring.

• Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of professional experience.

Tech Stack:

• Nest.JS with TypeScript for our backend framework

• React, single-spa, and GraphQL on the front end

• DynamoDB for our database

• AWS for infrastructure and hosting

• Docker & Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration

• GitHub for source code management and continuous integration

Basic Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in computer science or a directly related field, or equivalent work experience.

• Experience building web applications professionally for 2+ years

• Experience working with NoSQL databases

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in distributed, containerized, microservice architectures.

• Familiarity with event-driven systems and patterns, such as pub/sub messaging or event sourcing.

• Hands-on experience with container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes or Docker Swarm.

• Proficiency in cloud-native development, including experience with platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP

Built’s salary range for this position is $110,000 - $145,000 USD per year. The pay range is designed to accommodate upward mobility in the role, therefore it encompasses the full span of proficiency levels for this role and we believe that the midpoint of the range is competitive in the market. Salary is just one component of Built’s total compensation package for employees.
