Baptist Health Paducah has earned its ninth consecutive three-year accreditation from the American College of Surgeons' Commission on Cancer, recognizing the hospital's cancer program for meeting national standards for patient care. According to a news release, the Commission on Cancer accreditation is awarded to cancer programs that demonstrate compliance with standards focused on improving patient survival and quality of life. Accredited programs undergo an extensive evaluation every three years to maintain their designation. According to Baptist Health Paducah, the accreditation ensures patients have access to a full range of cancer services, including diagnosis, treatment, supportive care and community resources either on-site or through referrals. "When cancer patients choose to seek care locally at a CoC-accredited cancer center, they are gaining access to comprehensive, state-of-the-art cancer care close to home," said Michael Tutor, executive director of oncology and imaging services at Baptist Health Paducah. "Our staff gives 100% each day to guarantee our oncology patients receive the very best care possible." As a CoC-accredited institution, Baptist Health Paducah also becomes an ACS Surgical Quality Partner, the release said. FOX23 News at 9 p.m. 10 hours ago PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) - Baptist Health Paducah will host its 15th annual Spokes for Strokes bike tour on July 11 to raise awareness about stroke prevention and support expanded stroke care services and life-saving technology. Registration begins at 7 a.m. at the Baptist Health Imaging Center, 2705 Kentucky Ave., on the west end of the hospital campus. The bike tour will start at 8 a.m. Registration costs $35 for individuals, $50 for couples and $65 for families of four. Participants can choose from 10-, 20-, 35- or 65-mile routes through McCracken, Marshall and Graves counties.
